Little treat from @Numistacker Grading Company (NGC):
my avatar and favourite design so far (except for the 2014 maybe, which I haven't yet acquired)
another piece for my 1927 proof set
a triplet of older sovereigns
and an India Sovereign with full score

Received all seven of my graded coins from @Numistacker, thank you very much for all your help and advice with that process. I'm pretty chuffed with all the grades i achieved. Cant even complain about my undated 20p, at least its genuine!
Here they are with a few other graded coins I already had in hand. Still absolutely loving my Gold Dragon & Phoenix!
I think thats it for my coin purchases until.........
tomorrow! - One more stunning beauty to collect!

This is an 1871 shield back sovereign (Die No.12) salvaged from the wreck of the R.M.S. Douro. Following a collision, the Douro sank on the 1st April 1882.
I would not normally buy a “Details” coin, but given it has been to the bottom of the sea for over a hundred years, I think a few scratches are quite acceptable – I was buying the history. And if it was good enough for the Bentley collection...

My dream coin has just come. Ive wanted this for ages its a nice coin. I love it cost a bit but its a keeper for a few years. My best sovereign so far i think. Could have bought 10 sovereign.s for the price but ive done it now. So just pure bullion for a while lol.

What a coin.... 🤗😍
1853 Proof, nothing much more to say but wow!
I suspect many don't even know this rarity even exists, very very few in existence now.
Pictures (especially from phone) don't do it any justice, so I will do a 4k video at some point so others can enjoy it

This 1887 S sovereign arrived today...
The year 1887 is often synonymous with Queen Victoria’s Jubilee Head, but for part of the year the Sydney (and Melbourne) mint did continue to use the Young Head, which is what this is...
The Australian Branches also produced some Young Head Shield Back sovereigns in 1887 but these are very scarce to rare.

Waiting for a 1918i Sovereign is like waiting for a bus- two arriving at the same time. Thanks to both @Elements & @jultorsk for nudging me in the right direction. The PCGS MS64 is clearly the winner here, bought from Jon Blyth via eBay auction but the raw one is a very nice looking Uncirculated Sovereign.

@Bdean316, @Elements is correct, the 1891-M Short Tail is listed as R5 in Marsh, 5-10 examples estimated to have survived. The 1891-M Long Tail is Common. Similarly, the 1891 no Mint mark for London Mint Short Tail is also listed as R5, with Long Tail as R3 or Extremely Rare. Lastly, 1891-S only minted Long Tails and were Common.
Example of my 1891-M Short Tail (one of my first photos so kind of cr@ppy)...
And an 1891 Long Tail...

SovTracker got a reaction from Elements in Sovereign Errors, Overdates and Varieties
There are a number of Australia Sovereign variations for the 1870's and 1880's, some listed and some not and this looks like a good spot.
Shall we call it "Rounded 3" and "Dodgy 3"?
