It’s definitely a DHL tracking number. I’ve had 2oz golds delivered via DHL before. Probably a higher insurance level 🤔

Apparently I have a DHL parcel in transit from 7th with a tracking number but no emails and no texts plus not charged for it 🤷‍♂️ A nice free coin set would be great 😊

Was expecting this to kick off at 9am after all the emails telling me about all the work they’d be doing on the website this morning and unavailable until 9am I think it said??? I refreshed / tried to take a peek at the website at 8.09am and ended up about 2,090 in a queue I wasn’t expecting, so I’m guessing it kicked off at 8am when they said the website would be down??? Not bitter! 🍺 😂 I felt the 2oz gold mintage was a bit high after The Who 2oz gold mintage. 🤷‍♂️ There we’re options to buy but decided to stay out of this one. I’m still waiting on several orders to be delivered and have no idea when this lot will get posted out???

True but in SE Asia it is so widely used as an alternative to cash savings that the premiums are very low and the margins are squeezed. I posted some prices on another thread ages ago. A search under Thai gold should find it.

Thailand do some lovely 22-23k jewellery at close to spot. Of course the newer the jewellery the higher the premium but because it is mainly sold as an investment / secure cash equivalent it is generally very good value and low premium compared to our Western 18k or lower tat. If you want some across borders gold then the Thai necklaces and bracelets etc are great to get. Also countries like Laos, Burma and Vietnam. Get yourselves some sun and buy some discount gold jewellery at the same time 👌

The only way to know that the coin you submit is the one you bought, is to do it yourself, end of. It’s really not that hard. Fill in a form and send it to NGC’s London office or walk it in if you live close by. Easy! someone mentioned coin swapping earlier. Any coin could be examined and swapped with another “in stock” before they give you your NGC number. If they want your coin they can take it. It’s not 100% fool proof

I think the quarter 2oz will be one to have now, since they seem to have sold 2 to most people who bought the single then decided to buy the continuity version (later in their queue session), so they didn’t miss out on the portrait. Also in March when the Portrait launches there will already be x,000 already bought and less available for buyers on the day. 🤔 Nightmare getting the Portrait I’m guessing.

Lenders seem to be passing on the increase in Jan/Feb to close to Christmas now I guess. Pre 2008 the rates were normal at 4%, it will take time to get back up to those levels the BOE doesn’t usually move more than .25% per month but still that could be 3% each year if they push hard. Who knows 🤷‍♂️
