If it is just for your own personal investment I don't think you have much to worry about. 
Also, no need to declare cash or cash equivalents unless it is over €10,000 I believe (worth researching that and checking though)
Remember, it is value of the metal, not the face value of the coins. 
I have flown from Estonia to the UK with 20kg of silver and it was all good so should be OK with you too. 
From a UK customs perspective nothing was even visible or noticeable when we arrived in the UK. The interesting part is going through airport security with this stuff. It shows up as a giant black blob on the X-rays so they will want to have a look most likely. 
Or so you would think, the chaps in Estonia must be used to it because they saw the x-ray, looked at me and asked, "is it silver?", I said "yes" and they waved me through without by or leave!!!

Thought I would share a quick update. I had a reply from Atkinsons bullion first thing Monday morning (they actually replied via Instagram messaging over the weekend but could not sort it until the office was open). 
They have offered a full and complete return and refund including return postage. 
Very well handled by them and I am not going to hold a grudge that it happened at all. 
Lots of lessons learned I am sure from both sides of this situation and I want to say a big thanks to everyone here on the forum and on YouTube for helping!
I am still on the lookout for one of these beautiful coins though, but maybe have to wait as gold has gone up quite a bit this week!

They have offered a full and complete return and refund including return postage. 
Very well handled by them and I am not going to hold a grudge that it happened at all. 
Lots of lessons learned I am sure from both sides of this situation and I want to say a big thanks to everyone here on the forum and on YouTube for helping!

I agree with you, which is kind of why this is only just now coming to the forefront of my mind!
I remember getting the coin, thinking it was very pretty and looked good. I popped it on the scales, weight was right and thought no more of it.
It's a good luck thing I popped it on YouTube!

Howdy all, I did a video today on my Saudi Arabia Gold Guinea bought from Atkinson's Bullion a few weeks ago.
A few people commented that it might be a fake coin as it is quite worn and that it has "22" on it.
Now, I have done a specific gravity test as well as dimensions and weights which are all bang on correct for weight, dimension and 22ct Gold.
So, I am confident that I have real gold, but do I have a real Saudi Gold Guinea or is it a counterfeit coin?
I have not been able to find much info on the "22" part, a few photos from Google image searchs show "MOM 22" but not just "22" on its own.
Any thoughts/comments would be very helpful from anyone that knows more than I do!

Sorry, i meant the sovs being fake. From what i believe the Saudi guinea is real!

Here's an example of one i received when i got married, as well as some fake (real gold) sovs!

I'm no expert by any means but that was my first thought - gold or not, it didn't look struck properly.

This is really bad for atkinsons, as a trusted dealer I have always relied on them not providing fake/restrike coins.  I will certainly be checking everything in more details from now on!
