It's very traumatic, I'm sure most of us on TSF feel my pain

So you had a boat with your gold on and it sunk? Or is this a pun / innuendo, because that sounds terrible 🤔

I often have that affect on people, especially after a long weekend of limited sleep and a decent bottle of wine.
Basically sovereigns are good, boating trips can be hazardous.

Buying bullion sovs at bullion prices is a pretty sensible sounding option in the UK. You often see 'bulk' lots of sovs selling on here within the hour. Due to buying at low premium (often 5% or less) there's less risk tied up in premiums compared to other options, generally more buyers compared to bars and other oddities. Some years the proof coins are particularly popular but some years don't seem to get as much interest.

Before the boating problem I thought 1 Oz Britannia coins would be the way to stack gold so got into those. Had they not sunk I'd still be happy with them but after discovering bullion sovereigns shortly after I realised they was the way to go. They're easy to split out if you needed to (forbid the day) as they're fractional but still retain a similar if not better premium than the bigger Britannias. They also carry history of you buy old ones which is nice, and even cross into numismatic territory if you hold the older ones long enough. Unfortunately they all sank at the same time, Bully's Bullion & Bass tours are a riot of a laugh but the losses and difficult swimming are a right pain.

Have had relative success in the short time I’ve been stacking. Need 3 more 22’s to complete the 22 tube and have also picked up a handful of Gillicks and other random years that were well priced relative to spot. This place has been great to get me started properly but have also bought bits from dealers and other places too. Biggest challenge is not getting diverted by other shiny stuff. Was buying randomly but have dialled in now to Sovs and 1oz/Qtr oz Brits predominantly. Good luck to you 👍🏼

I'm sending a red top tube with his recent order that includes the airtite caps from more zone. He will be the coolest cat in the playground on Tuesday morning 😁

I use T22 ringed airtites for sovereigns from Morezone here on the forum, then airtite T tubes which I get from a Facebook group I am in.  The capsules are 75p each and the tubes generally around £5-6 depending how many you order
If you wanted to keep them in direct fit tubes I have a few Royal Mint ones knocking about I could sell to you

I don’t know where you are or how you will get them to wherever you are located but I use the ones from silberling.de for my sovs in capsules.

    Here’s a link: https://www.silberling.de/en/Accessories/Coin-Capsules-Tube-Extra-Small.html
P.S. They rattle a little in the tube but they are a close enough fit.

My mistake early on was to use a long pipe that held Sovs in Capsules.
Very convenient but the ones at the bottom cracked under the weight!
Now I use smaller sections of pipe - so they fit into the Safety Deposit box!

My Sovs go into an Airtite T22 black ringed capsule and about 20 capsules per red top Airtite T tube. Hope that helps. Perfect height for standing in a large Metro bank deposit box.
If slabbed buy a proper NGC or PCGS box, chinese plastic boxes on ebay haven't worked for me. Grooves were too thin for the slab.

I don't remember which site I used sorry. Don't have accounts with either. If it was eBay I'd have used guest checkout if it was Amazon I'd have got a friend to order.
Just searched and there are loads on eBay. Mine are 33mm but these on the listing are 30mm and providing that's accurate should be a better fit for the capsules I have with hindsight... but worth measuring your capsules.
