  1. Agree with you there. I know dealers need to make a profit but some are quite predatory when it comes to people who are desperate to liquidate some of their stack for emergency cash or a relative who inherits them and gets ripped off.
  2. Thanks! I was wondering how you would sell in the future as I mentioned holding for the mid to long term (at least 10-20 years) as TSF May no longer be around, auction houses take a huge slice of profits in marketing and auction fees and dealers can be quite predatory with coins (as I saw someone get offered £4000 for a three graces coin that the same company (a big dealer) was selling for £12000)?
  3. I have already got a good base stack, I am looking to add some collectables that would have a premium that would allow for a higher profit margin when I sell in the future. I have a small gold stack and a decent silver stack for the time being too.
  4. Saved up enough to get either a bullion memorial sovereign when they are released at the end of this month or a proof half from chards. I really like the design and wouldn’t plan on selling for at least 15-20 years as I see it performing very well in the future. It would also help to diversify my stack into collectables too. If I am making no sense please tell me since I wouldn’t want to invest in an item that I couldn’t move on in the future if I decided to cash in. My worry is that there will be scratches or defects on the proof as the Royal Mint aren’t too good when it comes to doing things right the first time. I missed out on proof platinum jubilee coins at the time so I was wondering what everyone else here thought of this? Also I would expect that Chards are careful enough to inspect their proofs before selling to customers but I have never bought one so would know exactly what to look for in terms of damage. Thanks for reading, leave a comment if you can help or have any suggestions for me!
  5. Here’s a link: https://www.silberling.de/en/Accessories/Coin-Capsules-Tube-Extra-Small.html (from my earlier post)
  6. I don’t know where you are or how you will get them to wherever you are located but I use the ones from silberling.de for my sovs in capsules. Here’s a link: https://www.silberling.de/en/Accessories/Coin-Capsules-Tube-Extra-Small.html P.S. They rattle a little in the tube but they are a close enough fit.
  7. Just really like the look of it in an assay card as it is a nice little piece to add to my stack and diversify into platinum at the same time. Maybe I will pick up a 1/10 oz platinum Britannia in the future but it is more of a display piece for the time being until I can afford a larger piece.
  8. Yes I have looked at their website and there is no sign of it, even listed as an out of stock item. Some American sites have it listed as being out of stock but other than that no luck. I sent them an enquiry about this particular item and some other a week and a half ago but no response as I assume my questions are too specific for some employee to know the answer to over the phone. I don’t live in England so it isn’t like I could just go down to London and go to the shop in person.
  9. As you can see from the title in looking for the 1/10 oz platinum bar in assay/certicard produced by Baird and co as I cannot find it anywhere in Europe or the UK. Only place that seems to have it is America on eBay which is not very trustworthy for precious metals authenticity. Willing to hear what price is for the item as I am unsure of the premium. Thanks in advance! Hope you can help me out here.
