Ah, the Royal Mint at its very finest!

To all of you with damaged coins (and I may be one of them).  I would suggest spending a little more and buying from a dealer.  Ask the dealer to inspect the coin before sending it out to you.  As an alternative, buy a coin that has been slabbed and graded.  You simply cannot trust the Royal Mint to send you a quality product.

Less than 2K of the 2 oz. silver sets has sold.  1,346 sets still available.

The home page has been updated to advertise the silver coin (previously it was the gold). Seems rather telling… 🫠
Meanwhile, I have sent my feedback to  the RM that they need to read the market with such releases, that this was a bad time to release an expensive 2-coin set in silver or gold, given the cost of living situation this year, and the upcoming coronation. Who knows if they’ll read it or care, but I thought they ought to hear it from a customer.

I’m surprised that this set has not sold better.  IMO, the design is beautiful, the edge lettering is unique, and the capsules look terrific and highlight the coins well.  I guess most people buy to flip, and this may not be a flippable coin.

To be fair to the royal mint. On this occasion I think they have done a great job with display box and capsules 

We all know that we would much prefer reading the edge description while facing the portrait of KCIII !  And please be sure to face in the direction of Buckingham Palace when you do so!

I think this is it.  KCIII is the obverse, and I think they intentionally intended that the coin is to be read the way it is.  Perhaps their sign of respect to KCIII, too.

The available quantity of the 2 oz. silver set keeps growing.  It's now up to 714.

One of the big reasons I prefer buying from the dealers.  I have never gotten a bad coin from a dealer.

I don't foresee the 2 oz. silvers selling out unless it gets close and the dealers buy it out.
I made a big mistake with this.  I anticipated that the queue would be overrun, and these would sell out very quickly.  I also thought that the mintage would be lower than it is.  So, to save myself some stress, I bought it from a dealer when sales opened at a little higher price.  Lesson learned for the future!
