  1. I don't understand your assumption if you bought 6 - 12 months ago you'll make a loss; aside from that, yes, I indirectly sell non CGT exempt coins/bars and buy Royal Mint gold to replace it periodically.
  2. As ever, nobody really knows, except the usual hype this year is the real deal ^^^^ upwards IE: David Brady, despite all his alleged analysis tools and monies he gets paid for writing them just published this: Scenario 1: Gold breaks $2000 and falls to somewhere between $1962-$1923, worst-case $1900, my original forecast. Scenario 2: Gold bottoms around $2010-$2020 and begins its rally to $2200 next. I suspect most of us could have managed that, so Lord knows why people pay for such information, but based on ongoing central bank ongoing buying, seems like we here are on the right path 👍
  3. THIS. I know that Keith Neumyer (of First Majectic) invested in 3 companies trying to recover PM's including mainly Gold from electronics. Last I heard 2 of the Companied had gone bankrupt, or at the least, just ceased trading.
  4. The only non CGT coin I often keep for myself. GLWS
  5. How many grams, I'm pretty sure we're not talking ounces here.
  6. Admirable photography indeed, but nothing on my wanted list. GLWS.
  7. Pretty much the same cost as their 1st release, these are stunning in hand, worth a punt for silver bugs who missed it before. GLWS.
  8. You two should get a room ............
  9. Overall most banks remain heavily short gold, although overall market sentiment remains bullish; meantime, hang onto your hats and buy any dips, we may, albeit briefly, see prices in the 1580's once again.
  10. I commented several months ago that I believe as the Shanghai trades the most physical gold, with an ever increasing number of countries using that to convert Russian oil money and similar genuine trades; eventually LBMA & Comex prices will no longer be the genuine value measure with so much gold now held and still flowing into the east - with more notional trades in a day than physical in a year, be nice for the manipulation to finally be stifled.
  11. @richatthecroft I will do this to assist in your comparisons next Friday 9th, I only usually go to secure storage on a Fridays.
  12. Considering several members bought these sets last year when BCC had an £895 'special offer', given increased gold prices now, I'm rather surprised nobody is taking advantage of this fair price. GLWS.
  13. Chards are £5 cheaper d'd until 13th January if you are in the market for the 2023's; some may consider those crowned head ones a better long term proposition than the current 2024's: https://www.chards.co.uk/2023-coronation-of-king-charles-iii-gold-sovereign-coin/16007
  14. Not entirely, unless a part timer or a dealer so small they somehow keep t/over below the £85,000 VAT threshold, car dealers have to pay 20% VAT on the difference between the buying and selling cost - Gross, not net, ie: no service/refurb costs allowance. Obviously VAT can be reclaimed on the VAT element of any parts/labour, but it's basically similar to the margin scheme used silver dealers utilise. Since the VAT section have more powers than any other part of HMRC, not people to be the wrong side of. Keep good records regardless is always a good idea and for self discipline IMHO.
  15. Probably warrants photo with capsule open, these are such nice designs. GLWS.
  16. Beautiful quintuples; too rich for my blood but doubtless the buyer/s will appreciate those. GLWS.
  17. I now have a pair of the brilliant uncirculated in storage, never tried or been offered the proofs, just took what came along at what seemed a decent prices at those times. I'll try and get a photo of them side by side one day FWIW, neither have been out of capsules according to both original buyers and I studied them pretty hard before payment. They are really nice - just hope the next generation appreciate it .......... 🤔
  18. I suspect some people may regret not buying silver at current levels.........
  19. As do I - it's such a shame they don't or won't give it any monetary value for CGT purposes ......
  20. Winegartens used to supply London rail timepieces IIRC, not sure if still around. GLWS.
  21. You may want to consider putting proof in the header title or it may well be assumed bullion.
  22. 9.1g of 375 gold ? Edit - gross weight - noted - thanks, my bad.
  23. Exactly the same as when I tried reporting similar, won't be bothering again; nor buying much there - den of ineptitude and dishonesty.
  24. Withdraw, reprice, reword listing, add photos; I can't keep up with some such listings, more like an OF promo tease ..........
