Here's a list of the types of precious metals I look for:
    - Gold Coins 1/4 oz or above
    - Gold Bars 10g or above
    - Silver Bars and Coins between 1 and 10 oz

I don't buy any fractional gold less than 1/4 oz or silver below 1 oz or above 10 oz. I also don't buy platinum or proof coins.
  • Coin series I have completed
I generally don't buy precious metals to complete any set as I buy what I like the look of. When doing this, I take into account any premiums a product might have.

  1. I've been considering buying gold from the Austrian Mint but there are a few things I'm taking into consideration. I've read mixed reviews from people on Google regarding their experience of buy from them, both online and at the shop in Vienna. Also postage isn't cheap, €25 to have items delivered from Austria to the UK. I was wondering if anyone on the forum has any experience of buy from the Austrian Mint and if there's anything else I should know?
  2. Now including free postage via Royal Mail Tracked 48 delivery.
  3. 1 oz Royal Mint Una and the Lion Silver Bar. £40, free postage via Royal Mail Tracked 48 delivery. Payment via bank transfer.
  4. @SovereignBishop No probs, I'll PM you in a few minutes 👍
  5. A few silver items for sale: - 10 oz Royal Canadian Mint Bar - £255 - SOLD 1 oz 2014 Silver Eagle Type 1 - £26.50 - SOLD 1 oz 2023 Silver Eagle Type 2 - £26.50 Plus postage for the bar via RMSD.
  6. I'll take the Scottsdale Vortex bar please 👍
  7. In a month's time, I plan to buy more gold. I am currently considering a 2 oz gold lunar tiger coin from the Perth Mint. It looks like a stunning coin and bigger coins have a better diameter when comes to their design. However, what I am thinking about is whether it will hold it's premium on the long-term and whether I will find a buyer, should I wish to sell it one day. I'm also aware that it won't be CGT exempt but this isn't a deal breaker for me at the moment. Here's a link for the coin: https://www.ukbullion.com/2022-2oz-lunar-iii-tiger-gold-coin.html Alternatively, I could just buy two 1 oz pieces of gold and I particularly have my eye on two at the moment. One is the 2023 Gold Britannia QEII coin (which will be CGT exempt) and the other is a Gold Heraeus kinebar. I currently own the 2023 Gold KCIII Britannia, so the QEII Britannia will complete a small set. I also happen to own one 1 oz kinebar already but I love the holographic design on the back so much that I fancy another one. Any thoughts?
  8. I planned to buy some gold in about a month's time, but the price of gold has sharply increased over the past few weeks. What I've been wondering is if the price of gold stays high, will it still be worth buying gold? Just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on this. There is always the the possibility that the price might drop slightly at some point. Likewise, the price of gold might stay high or perhaps go up even more.

    Fake bars ?

Yes they're definitely fake. Firstly, it's £750 for 2 gold bars, there's no way that 2 oz of gold is worth £750. Secondly, genuine Perth Mint bars have a mat finish. Those look too glossy to be genuine.
  10. I have the coin in your profile pic too, but as a 1 oz coin. Lovely design. I do like a 10 oz piece of silver, very satisfying when you feel the weight of it. I'm happy with my new purchase 👍
  11. I've heard of Englehard, apparently their bars are quite sought after
  12. I've decided which one to get and I've gone for a Kookaburra. An awesome and beautiful coin, very pleased with it 👍
  13. I would say your price ranges are more reasonable. I think I would be more comfortable buying something closer to the spot price. The Una and the Lion bars are stunning, don't get me wrong, but I would rather have bang for your buck than something speculative with no guarantee it'll hold its premium. For this reason, I've decided it's now between either Britannias or Kookaburras. The dealers are a tad more expensive so perhaps I see if I can get these cheaper on TSF.
