  1. I bought a 0.25oz and a 0.1oz for each of my 1oz to make sets; Christ didn't that wake me up to the reality of buying at £250-300/oz over spot. Not to detract from this listing however. GLWS.
  2. Good strategy and time to load up on silver both.
  3. OK, I'll play - I'll offer you one. Plus it's out of a sealed sheet, so untouched by human hands ..... 😎
  4. Always encouraging when his other items suggest he's a scrap car parts dealer...........
  5. Yep, a 2020 oriental Brit would do the trick right here .................
  6. OK, I'll take the 2 x 2022's.
  7. Good value for a 2009 Brit in nice condition.
  8. This sounds about right to me, you have about £3800 in gold content, plus whatever someone values poor quality proofs at and about £500 is tops IMHO. - not an easy sell, a great shame as those have potential for over £10k in properly stored unmolested condition, but like so many sets - they're not - and auctions tend to reflect on that badly. Also, you can still currently pick up a full 5 coin KC3 coronation set for under £4500 - so use that as leverage (meantime I'm monitoring KC3 current health issues closely 🤑 )
  9. If solely for gold content, these guys who I think @Spyder recommended are cheaper than Atkinsons 👍 EDIT - forgot the links............ https://www.ukbullion.com/gold/buy-gold-coins/gold-sovereigns/british-full-sovereign-gold-coin-22ct.html EDIT # 2 Too late - All sold
  10. Yes, I put it up before when premium was only 2.5%, that offer ended yesterday.
  11. And a watch authentication system as well :
  12. My last RM purchase was those £99 carded sovs they made an error on; but I made the mistake of adding some genuine RM sovereign capsules: https://www.royalmint.com/invest/bullion/bullion-coins/coin-accessories/empty-full-sovereign-coin-pack-capsule/ Problem was, without anything to the contrary of the payment page, I got charged an extra £9.00 P&P for the capsules which came separately, a bit rich on an order over £1k............
  13. Good point, in the USA I assume eventually a group would find a greedy attorney and start a class action lawsuit - but those can drag on for years - plus I'm unsure if such selling practices happen over there ??
  14. A friend who is responsible for quite a large business a/c on ebay had a meting with them about 10 days ago to renegotiate terms. Apparently their incomes this year to date are down on expectations and last year, so I see little prospect of them trying to stop these appalling scams, simply because they generate income.
  15. No, despite emails I've never even looked at old/circulated coins from RM, but get the impression you'd stand a better chance buying random years from a bigger firm where some kid gets to pick and package your coins. RM now seem intent on bundling together all sorts of mixed year and provenance coins into fancy wood boxes at high premiums -so I am only guessing, but would assume old stock is picked over so there would be no nice surprises, as can sometimes happen at dealers with disinterested staff problems.
  16. I think it best to leave you here to argue with yourself.
  17. Or just look back 12 years when Bitcoin was $5 and a few cents................
  18. As a 1oz + fan I can see the attraction of that 50g beauty and hope you achieve your final decision, CGT exempt is my main criteria these days but original RM 2oz coins are not very liquid unless a very, very sought after items, of which there are few, the right quintuple sovs are another story - in cases at least.
  19. Wise decision IMHO; the growing fear of 1oz coins here seems a tad excessive to me.
  20. Yes, same guy, maybe he works for them, I don't really actually know, nor why I'm on a list. Your assessment is at least one with conviction, he doesn't even seem to have the stones for that............... Most striking to me is the currency rates now though, neither GBP nor USD have much going for them and the Euro is a total basket case; I just know I only want enough cash money available for my needs, beyond that I prefer a basket of physical assets, some giving an income stream.
  21. Separately, I have not bought much direct from RM since the Jubilee Sovs, (except pricing errors ) because so many of their proof sets/coins later get discounted by dealers due to higher production numbers than current demand.
