This is a gold coin bought from a dealer in Europe. Is this normal?photo show open plastic and please dont atten my glove😃

Although I don’t want to say, I asked the dealer to add 999 pure gold to the name to avoid taxation, but the reason why I was taxed by the customs today is because of the dealer didn't pay attention to me, and when I wrote to ask if he missed it, his reply told me: This is a matter between me and the customs, I have to prove it myself, and he does not accept returns.what my think is i waste huge mo ney and take by someone

I have always found it possible to contact the local DO direct. They have very few opening hours these days, only 2 in the morning at my local, and rarely pick up the phone outside of these hours.
In my experience they are usually very helpful but I could just have been lucky. A few times over the last couple of months they have tracked down the whereabouts of seemingly lost packages.
If you like, PM me the details I will try and phone them for you on Tuesday after the Bank Holiday.

I forgot to mention, with some services, tracked-24, tracked-48, or Special Delivery, there is an option to re-direct the mail whilst it is "out for delivery". I'm not sure if it's possible to do this with the service you have used, but it might be worth checking.
To do this, you have to go on the tracking web page when it is "out for delivery" (early morning UK time, between 6-9am), click on the red "re-direct" button, enter the recipient post code that's on the parcel, and choose to re-direct either to a local post office, local delivery office, or another address that is within a mile of the address on the parcel. I tried this once, it only let me choose another post office, but that would still be better than going to the wrong address.

Yes I meant call from Taiwan. If that's not an option, then as the others have said, you have two more options:
Contact the local Taiwan post office you sent from, for them to contact Royal Mail for you.
Or contact the recipient and ask them to collect it from the Mount Pleasant DO, which I believe is central London - probably best to ask the recipient to contact RM first, just to make sure they know where to collect it from.
With the tracking number, RM can assist you/recipient in the next steps to take, which will likely be to collect from the Delivery Office.

Are Taiwan Mail not able to assist? They should be able to make a correction in transit for you? Not like you'd be the first person in history to make an address error!

I would still try calling Royal Mail, might as well try. Although they will say they go by the address written on the parcel, they will at least give you some information in the event of failed delivery.

Have you contacted the person you're sending the parcel to? You'll find most people in this country are very reasonable, and I know I'd prefer to be told, because the DO is half a mile from me, and I've been there so many times they know me by face. I'm sure I could get such an issue resolved myself.

JJH reacted to SheepStacker in How to solve the wrong address delivered by Royal Mail
Usually quite hard because of the DPA and many instances of mail fraud, you can't just phone up the Royal Mail and tell them the address is wrong.
The person you're sending it to is going to need to go to the DO with some ID to collect it.
You could try asking the Taiwan Mail people if they can contact Royal Mail for you and update the address?
  18. Thanks
JJH reacted to SheepStacker in How to solve the wrong address delivered by Royal Mail
What I suggest you do is just be very honest with the person you're sending the item to, tell them you've made a mistake with the address, and ask them to contact their local DO to arrange to collect the item.
It's a better option than faffing around trying to speak to someone at Royal Mail.

JJH reacted to LawrenceChard in How to solve the wrong address delivered by Royal Mail
It is important to ensure the address was / is correct.
Some years ago, while we were at 521 Lytham Road, Blackpool, postcode FY4 1RJ, people would occasionally address things to us incorrectly as "52 Lytham Road, Blackpool, postcode FY4 1RJ".
Despite this postcode being unique to us, the Royal Mail would often deliver to number 52, and when we complained, they insisted they they were obliged to deliver to the actual address, despite clear evidence that the address was clearly wrong. This used to happen several times each year.
If we were lucky, we got a call from someone at number 52, or were alerted by the sender, so could call and recover the item.
One time, we were unlucky. Nobody at the address would own up to receiving a package containing (from memory) about 12 Krugerrands. A helpful Scotsman in a flat at the same property pointed us in the direction of the Asian take-away kebab shop on the ground floor. They all denied any knowledge, but we strongly suspect they had stolen and kept or sold the contents. I cannot now remember the full details, but I think the sender lost out.
Good luck with your current case!
    😎

Usually if they can't deliver twice due to them not being able to find the address, it will go to the local DO for 2 weeks. The recipient can collect it from there.
  22. Thanks
JJH reacted to Petra in How to solve the wrong address delivered by Royal Mail
It will be difficult as you need the card that has been left, in this case at the wrong address. However, whoever is meant to receive it needs to leave a couple of working days, then go to the local place with some ID etc. and pick it up.
  23. Thanks
JJH reacted to Petra in How to solve the wrong address delivered by Royal Mail
Obviously not, as they have tried to deliver to the wrong address already .. or so you have said.

Nope. Will go to the local distribution office and the person you're sending it to can collect from there.
