I have a philosophy or mantra that we are all different, which I believe is a good thing.
Coin collecting is a minority interest, and some numismatists might be considered eccentric.
If someone called me eccentric, I would probably accept it is a compliment, althought I might go to Kwikfit for some wheel balancing.
There are also conspiracy theorists around. I don't want to insult or alienate too many of them, because they tend to like buying silver. 😎
I suspect there are a few extremists also, and I don't want to insult or alienate any of them, because they might be in possession of a BFG.

Silver price reaction to Kman's ban today: -3.5% 😕 (I'm sure Kman would be able to add some interesting chart and comments on this price development...)
I haven't seen what caused his ban just wanted to say that his posts used to seem rather valuable and quite atypically sane for this place so it would be a pity if his ban was permanent.
@ChrisSilver - just so that we know, is he banned temporarily please, or permabanned?

I think It is tru, it's on his member status on his profile. He was asked a personal question and replied with a even more personal comment involving forum membership. I was quiet surprised by this as it was a obvious no no as the rules are concerned and may have been a suicide by cop type scenario.

Give me some data to back this up?
Every chart I look at tells the same tale, running hot up until 2007/8 then not so good since; We seem in a way less inflationary period than pre financial crisis, quite the opposite in fact
The more I look and learn the less I understand this fixation with inflation, seems like a made up dream by people who dont understand Fed QE is bank reserves

The US had to lend dollars to Europe to rebuild after WW2
Offshore unregulated currency where a free market could decide how best to do things is always going to come up with a better system than a stuffy government
By the 70s the US didnt even know how many dollars there were so how could they still accept them for gold
The Eurodollar / repomarket became an amazing tool for economic growth, if you view currency like oil then the more you have of it the more energy to get things done, if you have a limited supply then you cap growth
Look at the rise of China with the eurodollar and then how it stalled since 2007/8
I think where you and others get it wrong is you think money = has to be a store of value, but what about its role as a tool? that is more important to the global ecomony, growth and trade; its aspect as a tool that is its value
If you have a gold standard then you gain a store of value but lose its value as a tool

how convenient he is not disputing the numbers that have annual production accounts to back them up.
but he's vague about which numbers he's does think they are making up.
(he can't be wrong then can he, ... it's not those numbers either, so keep on guessing)
sounds like he's full of ****.

and you openly dismiss thesilverinstitutes figures knowing that at least their mining production
figures are close enough to being correct. and you base this on a keith neumeyers word?
his word that is so vague it cannot be verified either way?

(doesn't knowing the mining production mean that you know most of the supply side of things?
there's only two sides to the equation, demand and supply. and you already know most of the
    supply side.)

this is a real problem if one of them happen to be keith neumeyer talking about silver demand.
let me spell it out what I'm thinking so it's clearer.
keith neumeyer has no honour as,
he is bad mouthing thesilverinstitute to have untrustworthy figures,
figures which are identical to his own.
all of which I can''t prove.

you can look up the data but I tallied the figures for one of the years of all of the significant silver mining
production(official annual report figures). the total came close enough (%) to the number shown by
thesilverinstitute for that year. feel free to do the maths yourself if you don't believe me.
I expect the 1 billion toz figure is correct or close enough.
anyone can prove or disprove this but nobody here seems to be willing to spend the time to do the maths.
but then again people here are full of talk. unwilling to do the maths. first to dismiss the findings of someone
who has done some of the maths, purely on the basis that it's result doesn't fit the prejudice.

It's about people who want their personal ideals on economics to be real, even if the world has moved to a different place with different rules.  The debt that the world lives on wont disappear, its how economies function now.  No country would return to hard money, except out of desperation - their control and currency is in such a poor state that they need to secure it with something.

there is a time and a place for everything.
nothing goes up in a straight line.
for metals to correct might take years/decades.
consider this, it's been decades since the height of the british empire. yet each £ is still worth
more than $1. currently the top economy in the world yet each $ can't buy a £. how is that logical?
answer is it's not. but it takes time. the decades that have past is not yet enough time.

unless an emergency, in the night, if you run out of milk, it can wait till the morning.
there is a time and a place for everything.

(just so that you know that I'm not having a go at you personally. we've all been known to only
hold rock, come hell or high water. there is no shame in holding rock, everyone has done it. once
you've learnt to hold rock, you can use it as a stepping stone to discover more.)

there is a time when it's favourable to hold physical silver. but the charts say that that time is not
here yet. I never heard any forum 'price suppression' objections a few years ago when I said it was
favourable to hold gold for at least a few months or more. why do all these objections suddenly
appear when I say the price is likely to (overall)fall over the next 6 months or so?

for the trading of gold, a century amounts to next to nothing. for a person waiting, a century is a
    lifetime wasted.

    keith neumeyer must be right,
but you can't explain to me why his figure of 1 billion toz in demand is correct when the same 1 billion toz in demand
claimed by the thesilverinstitute is made up?

and yet you insist on taking his word as if it were gospel?

you know what is actually virtually worthless?...

here's the truth, in 2014 when I first got into metals I had all the same thoughts about the fed, printing etc that
you have now.(I've been there and have the coin dated physical silver to prove it) so don't make it out like it's
a revelation. the difference is I cross examined the figures that I can work out to be credible and they don't
match with information(which I now understand to be conspiracy theories). either all the figures from all the
different sources are wrong or the theories are wrong. so voicing to not buy silver at the highs hasn't done my
forum rep any good but have saved me from larger paper losses.
you can make progress(scissors and paper also exists) or,
you can take rock every time?

We hear from a Silver Institute sponsor Keith Neumeyer who is on the inside track that the Silver Institute is making numbers up. Their report is virtually worthless. No-one knows some of the numbers and the refiners keep some of the numbers a trade secret. i posted the video here - The 'actual evidence' is actually fictional figures. The precious metal market is rigged. It is a currency market not a commodity market. If silver were just something used in electrical devices (as some people actually think) then the need to manipulate the price would be much less. But it isn't a commodity, it is a currency, its money. Gold is a currency. Currencies are all managed. There is 'fiat' gold and silver - the paper metals which are created out of thin air.

All currencies are managed. The USD is defended by managing all other currencies. The USD is a matter of absolute importance. It is the life blood of the Western financial system. Gold and silver have to be manipulated to keep a shine on the dollar and by extension other fiat.
If gold went to $5000 next week - if the Chinese said we are backing the yuan with gold and we are revaluing that gold. The USD would disintegrate the same morning. It would turn the world on its head. The current powers will fight and fight against the metals - they have to or their system evaporates. If you do not grasp that, none of what i say or what some others say can make any sense.

hand waving does not constitute evidence.
actually evidence is figures that can be calculated such as those from
    https://www.silverinstitute.org/silver-supply-demand/
all of which you dismiss because they are evidence that prove what you currently have is not the whole truth.

the harsh reality is that you are being brainwashed into taking losing bets on silver by the physical silver pumpers.

So many reasons this is fantasy
China are known to manipulate their own currency to be favourable to them
Why would any government want to tie their hands with a gold standard?
The world runs on the repo market and eurodollar system, liquidity being king; how liquid is a gold standard? wouldnt  it be devastatingly deflationary
How much global debt is there that needs to be paid in dollars? not gold yuan, dollars
If no more eurodollar system no more needs for treasuries as collateral, governments would be totally f**cked no? its impossible to pay off the debt you need to issue more, how would that work on a gold standard, who is going to forgive these debts?
Its like saying we could all switch to green energy tomorrow and leave fossil fuels behind, you need to ignore all the realities of the world to think thats possible
