  1. As per private message, please put me down for #183, can't break my run that goes back to 2020. Ken
  2. Does anyone know if there will be a 1 ounce silver bullion version of the coin?
  3. This is the US coin set for 2023 that I really want and the household limit is three, so fingers crossed my friend in the USA can score a set for both of us. I could not see what commemorative coins are slated for 2023, so makes we wonder if bills for these have stalled in Congress.
  4. Another place for gold and silver - https://www.philatelicheritage.co.uk/ One problem I found with silver bullion Britannia coins is when you find out the older ones had different reverse designs some years. I wish they would start that up again. Next you find out there are lunar privy marked ones and so on - which by then, low premiums go out the window....(like the Year of the Pig privy marked Britannia). The following is a good site which shows various Britannia coin and other releases. https://www.britannia-uk.com/
  5. First place would be to check here on the forum. Another dealer which has not been mentioned to buy silver from is https://www.silvertrader.uk/.

    Buying from the US

Do you mind sharing with us that coin series that you are looking at?
  7. Since I live in the UK, I convert the face value of the coins to UK pounds based using the first hit I get via Google Search. So US dollars to UK pounds I search on us dollar to uk pounds, which meant a few times I paid more in postage than the converted face value of the coins. I normally put the coins in a standard envelope or two, put these into a padded envelope, a note to the person saying hope you enjoy the gift, and seal the envelope. Tape in up good. If I am lucky, it is less than 5mm in height so it fits thru the letter size guide that the Royal Mail Post Offices has, since the rate for that seems to be lower. Hopefully the clerk can read the customs form so they know what your are posting....but often they still ask. Then the waiting game to hear from the recipient to know that the items arrived safe and sound. Yes, I agree that many people would not appreciate receiving coins as a gift. Here is a link to an article about one person who try to pay for petrol with a £100 coin. https://metro.co.uk/2021/10/26/driver-arrested-for-buying-fuel-with-100-coin-wins-5000-damages-15486151/ Then there were the people buying a bunch of £20, £50, and £100 coins from the Royal Mint at face value and then deposited them at the bank to pay their credit card bill so they would get the airmiles. https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-3390519/I-buy-Royal-Mint-commemorative-coins-bulk-credit-card-gain-airmiles-cash-bank-s-refusing-accept-them.html So that basically lead to these coin series being cancelled.....of course, it was not surprise to some people since similar things happened in Canada as well before the Royal Mint did their face value coins. https://coinweek.com/world-coins/armageddonroyal-canadian-mints-20-for-20-silver-coin-program/
  8. When I sent coins to a friend in the US (silver or clad), I call them medallions on the customs form and put the value down as face value of the coin. We have been doing this for over 13 years of trading. For the form, I also group them by weighs to keep the folks are my local post office happy. One item to note, the sender can't be a business address and when I asked about that, the customs folks said that businesses can't send of gifts.
  9. I wish the Royal Mint would do a product schedule like the US Mint does, instead of guessing from the Proclamations at https://www.thegazette.co.uk/all-notices/notice?noticetypes=1101. I am hoping that their enrollment program works out since I think it will be better than the mad rush that the coin is released and the web site can't handle the load and people miss out on getting the coin they wanted. I attached a screenshot of how the enrollment program works. Can you share your thoughts about why this takes the fun of collecting non-circulating coins?
  10. I prefer the Massachusetts telephone dollar coin over the Royal Mint telephone £2 coin which is part of the American Innovation dollar coin series. https://www.usmint.gov/coins/coin-medal-programs/american-innovation-dollar-coins/massachusetts-telephone The order of release of the coins in the American Innovations dollar coin series is determined by when each place became a state.
  11. Bringing this old topic but it appears that the Royal Mint sold all silver "Special Relationship" coins to a US company with no clad £5 made. As a reminder of the information about it: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/3804374 Reverse a depiction of Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill in front of the flags of the United States of America and the United Kingdom accompanied by the inscription “UNITED STATES - UNITED KINGDOM A SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP”. Here is what we were able to find: https://www.patriotgoldgroup.com/shop/the-royal-mint-the-us-uk-atlantic-alliance-exclusive-silver.html Is this really correct?
  12. This week my 2021 1 ounce BYB branded bar arrived, the 2020 George H.W. Bush Coin and Chronicles Set which has a Silver Presidential Medal, and a type 1 bullion 2021 silver American Eagle to go along with my 2021 type 2 2021 silver American Eagle & my 2021 reverse proof silver eagle set Many thanks to BYB for the lovely silver bar.
  13. Just two on the US Mint 2022 product schedule....Peace and Morgan dollar from the San Francisco Mint.
  14. That was the 1/2 ounce one that I saw just ounce for very short time on a dealers site....when I went back to buy one, it was gone.
  15. I also thought there was 2011 1/2 ounce one with the Billowing Union Flag....that I saw once on a dealers site but couldn't find since then.
  16. I registered...hoping that the do them as 2 ounce silver again.
  17. For these, I will probably do the same I did with the Queen's Beasts.....cupro-nickel and 2 ounce silver bullion ones.
  18. Please let us know what you think of the silver penny once you have received it. I did not consider buying once since I thought it was overpriced since it is only 3.56g while the the £20 coins like the Welsh Dragon were 15.71g (which it looks like they have stopped making).
  19. Here is the link to the £20 one - https://www.royalmint.com/gifts/by-occasion/recycled-silver-penny/
  20. Did anyone else try to order this set on Monday? As usual it was a very frustrating experience. It took me well over an hour to get an order in and then over 6 hours for the order email confirmation to arrive. Mintage is 125,000 and the house hold order limit was 1. https://www.coinnews.net/2021/09/13/2021-reverse-proof-american-silver-eagle-two-coin-set-launch/ Fingers crossed that I will get my set, if I do, it will be making a stop with my mom in Rhode Island for her to send over to me.
  21. I received my 2021 2 ounce silver Queen's Beasts completer, a 2006 & 2021 1/10 ounce silver Britannia, and a 1936 USA Rhode Island Tercentenary half dollar.

    Am I mad....?

There is also the drive/competition aspect mode some people get into where every coin that have needs to be the highest grade so that they can have the highest ranking set. What happened to the days of buying the coin and not the holder. Sometimes, I miss the good old days when the bulk of what the mints did was make coins for circulation. I sometimes look at an old coin that circulation and wonder where it was been, who has touched it, and so on. In my opinion, buying a graded coin would be done, to ensure that you are not buying a fake or altered coin.
  23. I bought one of these coins from GreatBritishBullion and I do agree that EuropaBullion did a great job in making these coins. Keep up the good work.
  24. Now the decision of buying from the silver bullion one from the Royal Mint or wait to see if a dealer/seller has it cheaper in a capsule.
  25. I will be getting the silver bullion one to go along with my Robin Hood one. Might have a bit too much foliage in the design but she does seem to stand out when I look at the picture of silver one on the Royal Mint site. The third one is supposed to feature Little John.
