How will those who knows nothing of PMs starts buying can have an impact on collectors and stackers ?

So how much do we think is held by private citizens in the UK? I'll say very low, much lower than the french population - perhaps half the amount. Besides, nearly all of the UK forum members here have suffered at least one tragic boating accident. Otherwise, it could have been slightly more. 😬

I transitted through Manila airport once and had to go through security check. I had a tube of newly minted 1oz silver Britannia and a small bag of silver coins both old and new in my hand luggage (as you do!). The girl operating the x-ray machine stopped the conveyor belt and had a long stare at the monitor screen then promoted her male colleague to check my bag. He asked me what was inside my bag so I told him I had some coins. He was rather perplexed. But rather than show him the tube, I pulled out my small bag of coins all in capsules. He wasn't at all interested in my numismatics which were dark and toned. Instead, he had a long look at the shinny ones and was admiring at my silver pandas. 😅 When satisfied, he turned to girl operating the x-ray and shouted it's OK, they are coins. Needless to say, the girl had a funny look on her face and was rather perplexed too ! 😂 The chap then told me to be careful with my contents and wished me a nice day ! 😁

I am also at the airport lounge observing. I see a flight fully booked. Passengers scrambling for overpriced tickets on economy seats. The aircraft is old with ageing decor to match. It will be an uncomfortable long haul flight for some !

To generate extra revenue for the Royal Mint of course !! Personally, I cannot see this series being a success either. I just don't see enough collectors who are also monarchists buying into the whole series. Instead I see flippers seeking to make a few quid.

This will be a lesson for new collectors. I am sure we have all been there, buying a coin what we thought was a good price then discover later on it was a fake. Copies of the morgan dollar are widely available on AliExpress.com The traders on there doesn't pretend they are selling the real thing. For those of us who remembers buying these from a high street bank for 25p each, they are not silver but copper-nickel. There is, however, a proof sterling silver version of the coin. But yours isn't it.

I think it's best to check on ebay on the sold items. It'll get you a good indicator on the current market price.
