closed 9ct Gold Watch my Auction

This 9ct gold vintage Longines watch no longer works and needs a grand revival. If it goes to the scrapyard for parts and to melt that gold, then so be it!

9ct Gold Vintage Longines Gentleman's Wristwatch. This horological gem, with the serial number 11051763, dates back to 1959-1960. Longines Reference 6986. 9ct Gold Case, Hands, and Hour Markers. Dazzling Silver Dial. Signed 17-Jewel Calibre 280 Movement. Perfectly Sized at 35mm Case Diameter.

• The lower lug is smaller than the top lug - needs to be either fixed or two different sized straps used.
• Something in the winding mechanism inside may be broken - but is definitely in need of a service/clean!
• The case back is 4g of 9ct gold - I estimate the whole case (inc case back) to weigh at least 10g of 9ct gold (at least 3.75g of total fine gold content).
• wI'd estimate the gold is worth anywhere from £180-£200 but possibly more. This is only for the gold, not the movement or branding etc.

This watch can be purchased to be serviced/restored, or can be purchased for parts and gold as well.

I estimate spot gold weight for this watch to be between £180-£200.

Thank you gentlemen. Hopefully somebody has the patience, time and £ to get this restored. I'd love to see that if possible

EDIT: I've gotten sensible quotes averaging from £150 to £500 for restoration from a YouTube channel owner and from a higher-end place authorised by Longines.. I was told due to it being an automatic manual wind watch, the place might charge per issue which is better for your wallet.
