That's in line with their latest coin in the "Masterpiece" collection, although other coins in it were the based on the same design, as Great Engraves'

The 2023 St Helena 5 Pound 1 troz Au looks a lot better and true to W Wyon’s St George & the dragon design.

I would be interested in acquiring that in the secondary market at a more reasonable price.

I think some of us are hoping that the Wyon design will be what the RM use for the St. George & Dragon coin due for release later this year.

This appears to be a separate coin, not the Pistrucci Great Engravers coin.

From @westminstrel's thread last year:

Alternatively, there is a fairly recent Jody Clark design which would also be good in my opinion.

Yeah that’s so weird because the denominations aren’t in line with the proof range. And the inscriptions are obviously bullion type descriptors.

Most likely they will just be something like the Valiant range.

I can’t see them using the iconic Wyon design for a boring regular bullion range. Whenever they do the Wyon design, they will milk it in all possible Proof denominations and as part of a prestige collection like the Great Engravers. It’s simple marketing 101.

I love both the EIC and the Valiant designs. But I can’t afford proof coins. It’s a pity they never seem to issue bullion versions which I’m sure would sell like hot cakes to more impoverished collectors.

Based on the proclamation link above, it's pretty certain that there's a bullion G&D coin range coming soon.  Like you, I'm very interested in PM bullion coins and don't have any PM proof coins.

The Valiant range was bullion, not proof.
