Hello All,

I'm a long time stacker from New Jersey.  Been stacking silver since I was 14, buying an ounce a week back then when I got paid from my part time job.  I remember the hoarding by the Hunt brothers, and the rapid price increase to $50.  People were selling their grandmother's serving sets to buy a new car.  I got interested in silver at a young age when my brother and I received some silver half dollars as change at a Chinese restaurant.  Once I realized the value, I was off and running building my stack, and over 40 years later, I'm still buying PM's on the dips.  I'm a military veteran, and served in the first Gulf War.  Married with grown kids, and an empty nester now.  Also interested in crypto, buying the dips, which seems quite frequent lately.  If I can give some advice to others, it would be to:

  • diversify your investments to limit your exposure to any one asset
  • don't go all in
  • dollar cost average
  • buy more on the dips
  • stay away from numismatic items unless you really know your stuff
  • be careful who you share your PM info with
  • use a safe, and bolt it to the floor
  • live within your means
  • educate children in money management and investing
  • have more than one source of income and expand your skillset
  • exercise your 2nd amendment rights and stack ammo
  • prepare for the worst and hope for the best

I look forward to perusing the forums and contributing where I can.

Welcome!

I agree with most of your advice, but:

We can't bolt our "safes" to the floor, because they are almost impossible to drill. However the small one weighs about 40 tonnes, and is underground, with our showroom above it.

The 2nd amendment only applies to about 4.25% of the world population, and certainly not to the UK. This also makes it tricky to stack ammo in the UK.

Two simple fixes to the above restrictions.

1) dynamite

2) silver bullets

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

I think we would need a very large quantity of dynamite.

I thought Silver Bullets were banned, or was that Band?

😎

crossbow bolts might suffice

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.

Ah yes, I did notice the heavy bias of UK members.  😀  Even though we have the 2nd amendment in the US, politicians are constantly chipping away at it.  So I pick up a new gun here and there while I still can, and have an ample supply of ammo that will last quite a long time.
