I've actually done that to begin with.  Have one the size of say a £2 coin and quite thick.

Why I thought it was a good idea to check it out on fridge 😅 when I got closer the magnetic shot out of my hand ( dent in fridge) then sliding it horizontally to get it off,took paint with it.

My advice for anyone starting is to avoid eBay totally.

If it’s not fake, the prices are too high.  There are no bargains on ebay* and TSF or a Dealer is a better place to start your PM journey.

*I will caveat this - sometimes there are sleeper coins on ebay - ones which the seller does not know has something interesting about it.  I “specialise” (gentleman amateur) in Sovs and see a sleeper once or twice a year. I have bought one (was buy it now), the others when spotted by keen eyed buyers sell well over the price you might pay at auction.

Good sleeper examples I have seen:

- Ansell

- Decent condition M half (with I got)

- A fair few Sovs with letters over letters that are unrecorded.  Hardly surprising of course.

I saw this a few hours ago, and did not understand it at first sight. I have just come back to it, and seen the clever mis-"quote". I have a feeling we could see many more of these before too long.

So the truth is now out about my other two wives, Rose and Mary, which possibly helps to explain why I don't get out of bed early these days.

Bought a gold coin from Honduras on ebay price was less than gold spot and it was real, it more or less depends on what the seller wants for it.

I called a pawn shop they said they can till if it is silver almost better than trying to figure it out yourself.
