Silver Panda Coins

SHELAGH

Recommended Posts

Hi, we inherited a whole batch of silver coins from my late father in law. Many are usual suspects from the royal mint etc. Among these is a silver china panda coin minted in 2000. We have the provenance as we have the receipt and marketing material from when he purchased the coin in 2000. He paid £10. The coin is encapsulated and never opened and comes with a certificate.  There seems to be a huge disparity in valuations. Any helpful information gratefully received.

  • morezone changed the title to Silver Panda Coins

Please type in a standard format.  I have changed everything from capitals to normal sentence casing.

eBay can be used a a rough guide for pricing.  As a "buy it now" you'd probably get £150-£200 for it depending on how quick a sale you want.  As an "auction" probably a lot less.

Agreed with the above.

Depends greatly on condition. A top condition example is worth upwards of 160.

If you can take higher quality pictures without top half of capsule we will be better able to narrow it down.

Take care not to touch the coin with your hands at all.

If you are interested I can help you with the sale of this. I have one in my collection so not for me!

I'd argue that this is a £120 minimum and around £200 maximum, of course a bit hard to tell from these pictures alone. It looks to be in great condition and with that presumption I would feel quite confident to ask between £150 and £180 for it. I've seen some examples sell on eBay between $250 and $300 so it could be slightly higher, but again quite quality dependent.
