I bought this uncirculated American Eagle. It is a 2011 burnished eagle made using special burnished blanks. There were about 8,500 of these coins minted compared to 850,000 regular bullion coins making it the 2nd lowest mintage of an American Gold Eagle.

The 2012 is slightly rarer!

I have bought my first double sovereign.

 

When I picked it up it is only a 1983 PROOF coin, well pleased.

The vast majority of double sovereigns you will see are going to be proof coins. The only years they were struck for circulation were 1823, 1887, 1893 and 1902, all of these would be worth having if you happened to receive one.

Sounds great doesn't it, But Have to take into account, 6 quid pitch fee and 3 quid fuel, So actually not as great as it sounds, but I got a free pitch and travel and some silver under spot so not bad:)
