Hi @londonfella81 I think the other challenge having done due diligence is you have is you are a new member and have NO reviews at all. People will maybe not be too keen a chap that has no reviews coming around to their place. Just a thought.
And meeting up in a public place with 500 Oz of silver and the seller with a lot of cash is not idea.
On reflection unless you had someone to vouch for you it’s going to be difficult to shift. PS. Do you have proof of purchase? Where did the silver come from? I would be out till I had a little more info.

Agree. But you’re looking at about £22.5 a coin if you want those to fly out. A little more than £22 a coin if £11000 was paid for the 500 ounce box.
And if you do sell the tubes put me down for a couple. … no money in Brits at the moment. No movement in the market, premiums just too low.

If I can't sell the whole box thinking tubes is the only way to do it tbh
Agree. But you’re looking at about £22.5 a coin but in tubes, you will hedge yourself. You can then control volumes.
If you did tubes of coins at £550 (or £22 a coin) sales maybe still be slow.A 🤔 £22 a coin (ie. if £11000 was paid) for the 500 ounce box is a great way to dump the lot though is a fair price at volume.

@JamesH glad you got on well. I spent over £10k with them easy till I had an issue. 6 months now still ongoing. They auctioned the wrong coin, apparently got a credit. A stack of coins waiting… if still there with them. Currently down around £700. Let’s see if they ever resolve the issue. Seems they are so busy they forget to get back to their customers enquiries? At least that’s what seems to be happening to me.
Yep…. And still waiting…

Had some further correspondence with RM today after my annoyance with their pricing.
They have reduced the prices of a few of their stock and sets with new prices going live tomorrow.
Still silly high pricing but a start at least!
I too equally shared my concerns on pricing the other day with our RM accounts manager.

Making me curious about having more than 1 tube, you must have enlisted the help of friends and family. Fair play.
Good on you. I just told 5 mates, 3 of them bought for themselves, 2 of them did not (and are actually PM collectors) both are numpties.

I expected “exchange” in title and a slight different colour, like there is with “wanted” (red) and “exchange” blue.
Though I see not there is a sale .and exchange option. I guess it guess does not pop to me and so I would typically (and expect others too) would pass over it. Just saying.
In looking I think you pay have the right title tag 🤔. Just doesn’t seem to pop out at me. Not for me but GLWS anyways.

Hi TSF,
Interesting week with gold right?
.This week reaching a new ATH
.Up nearly £100 in the past two weeks, with continued week on week rises.
Perhaps further rises are on the way.
Perhaps not.
Are you feeling lucky?
I'm offering top condition RM 1oz gold bullion in exchange for the above coin.
Opt 1: 3oz + £1000
Opt 2: 4oz + pay £800
Some graded coins are also available for a possible part exchange. Message for further details.
Only established members on this one please.
Running for the weekend. Ending Suday evening.
Hi sorry if you want this coin or it’s an exchange shouldn’t it be tagged “wanted” or “exchange” just to make it clear you want the coin in the title?

Let’s just hope they don’t do a second like they did with the gothic crown. 👑 … we know how much of a flop that set was over the previous 2 coins in the collection.

I have bought 2 King George V silver coins from RM site when i started collecting numismatic coins years way back. After a year, i realized i can purchase similar grade ones at 50-60% from markets, a lesson learned and luckily not sky rocket prices were involved. These 2 coins are still kept by me up to now and remind me the story behind😅.

Proof coins are expensive, would I like to see them cheaper, sure why not.
Can you buy them on the second hand market cheaper, yeah sometimes.
Historic coins however - these have a different feel to them on The Royal Mint's website. It feels like they have sourced them cheap and then slapped a massive price on to simply profiteer from people that don't know better.
That's part of why I am inititiating this "investigation" and getting some feedback from the mint.
I don't begrudge any company trying to make a profit. Taking a historic coin, checking it, authenticating it and then presenting it in a information sleave/box - sure thats fine and you can charge a premium for this for customers peace of mind. There is a market for this kind of product.
What I have a problem with is that The Royal Mint will use their reputation and branding to make people think a coin is valued at a certain level just because they say so.
Flagship of the world silver, 6x bulloin (poor condition if you see the photos) for £82.50 per oz is just a blatent rip off. £270 for a completely worn victoria young head crown...total rip off.
Price those at £40 per oz and £120 per crown then I would have no problem. They are still expensive but they are not extotinate.
See your point on this thread. I guess I would never buy a historical coin from RM ever anyways as they seem to always be over priced. I guess I am more concerned by the recent George Michael coin video you posted showing how publicly that present imperfect coin as a proof. I am taking that issue to my manager there. Maybe not one for this thread though. Thanks. 🙏

Great words! If there were only more people that acted with this integrity the world would all be in a better place. …good luck @BackyardBullion I think you will be hard pressed to find any integrity in an MPs office. It may possibly exist in some but the fact most MPs don’t even live in their own constituencies is telling!
