  1. If you were thinking about it then I'd phone them to find out what sort of condition it's in. There were issues with the packaging and the coins when released.
  2. Totally agree. Not that I'm sort sort of international jet-setter - I just couldn't be bothered. Also if you do get a good coin then it is very likely to milk to some degree or another. By the time your 10th coin arrives your Seymour Panther will probably look like a plasters radio. I'd love to get enthused and join in, but can't. That said, I'll definitely take the next engraver if I can. Some things are worth the trouble.
  3. I previously posted that these weren't for me, and I sort of stand by that.... but.... I'm tempted to get the 5oz and just stick it away, but... is nobody else worried the quality will be garbage? Remember the recent QB S1 sets? How many times do you let RM pull your trousers down before enough is enough?🤔
  4. Fear Of Milking Over. 😀 Bang average design, far to soon after the original beasts. Too many coins. No doubt abysmal QC. As with most RM silver proofs, not for me. Good luck to those who start off on the long road to this series.
  5. Are you implying that the Shanghai Super Lucky Sniny Star Coin and Pet Food Manufacturing Company don't take their responsibilities seriously...
  6. It would be brilliant if the culprit walked into your showroom and tried to sell you your own fake coins!
  7. If you're happy then it's money well spent. Nice coin.
  8. These are definitely a niche market and unless spot hits £57.51/oz it will lose you money. That said, if you like it buy it. The heart wants what the heart wants - It doesn't have to make sense.
  9. I think I have a £10 note with a 000120, I'll check when I get home tonight. Another thing I like to do when new notes (bills) are released is keep a run of 3 pristine sequential examples if I can. It's for the kids/grandkids - I wish someone had done this for me...
  10. That's a great serial number, definitely a keeper. I love this sort of thing and have quite a few myself particularly of the new polymer notes of all 5 UK banks now issue.
  11. I used to partial to a nice cigar years back. I bought these on holiday in Mexico about 20 years ago. its like a work of art really... and now the smokes are long gone it is a rather stylish home for about 80oz on shiny stuff...
  12. Something a little different for me. Cheeky little 2008 1/20th panda and 1918 1/5th Peruvian Libre. Quite pleasantly surprised at the detail on such small coins. Both unc. condition. Lovely little things. Thanks to @Leonmarshfor the advice, but now I have it in hand I think it's a keeper - at least for a while.
  13. Agree - all the profit is gone from the early ones and I dont love them enough to pay over the odds for mass produced recent bullion I bought the Unicorn on release because I'm Scotish. As I said earlier l was disappointed by the size and gignt get any more. I have also bought the completer because I liked it, so my QB collection is probably the worst one around! Having missed 1 & 2, I have started series 3. I have 1/2, 1 & 2 oz. I really like the design (although not everyone does) and the quality is great from Perth. It's a very long term project which I intend to see through.
  14. A little bit of Americana from @DuncanWylieWilson. My first purchase from him. Delighted with them. First of many no doubt. My wife thanks you...😉
  15. That is very true. I have a 1kg bronze bar and in the right light it looks very much like gold. Good suggestion sir.
  16. I often ponder this myself - what series- if any - to collect. I missed the boat with the QBs, I may pick them up over time, I dont know. One thing that I disliked about them was the piedfort format. It was just lazy in my opinion. The designs were by and large really good and would have benefitted from a larger coin field. A perfect example of this is the 2oz kooks. Everybody loves a kook, but the 2oz are spectacular. I think they are about 55mm diameter. They only ran from 1992 until 2009, so 18 in total. A little more of a challenge then your standard 1ozers, but easily doable with not too crazy premiums. So in summary - 2oz kooks would be my suggestion.
  17. I dont know exactly how many variations there are of 1oz kooks, but I'm pretty sure it will be an unholy amount. Good luck @dicker, look forward to seeing this take shape.
  18. The Lion of England is worse than ANY bullion I have with the exception of an old maple which cost me 15 quid. To echo @matt1r I would love to get involved with these types of coin. They should be special, amazing, heirloom stuff - but they are in reality a gamble which you will most likely regret. I'd sooner spend the cash on just about any other silver than on these.
  19. If you list it at £20 for the banter then I'll take it!
  20. Those tubes don't look too dissimilar to urine specimen bottles. Should point out I know this from a professional standpoint rather than a urinary problem standpoint! They look better with this yellow stuff in them...
  21. Since deciding last year to fill some tubes of coins and getting 2 empty Philharmonic tubes I have been plugging away. Picked up a few great deals here on the forum, the rest here and there. Got the last 2 at the weekend when Atkinsons very sportingly put some pre owned Phil's up despite spot falling! A full tube of coins feels nice and weighty in the hand. Makes me want more..... Another tube of these and then on to something different.
  22. One of the 1/4oz silver QB proofs. Only a PF69 though.
  23. Bet it would sail through RM quality control.
