I bought a full sov on Monday. This is the first time I have been successful in the sh!tshow that is the RM queueing/buying system. I got the confirmation email, but the payment is still sitting as pending on my card - is this normal? Was initially really chuffed, but now a wee bit concerned...

Not an expert, but from what I've seen listed previously then jewellery tends to sell for only a few percent above its spot value - unless its something exceptional like a big brand piece. So you'd need to weigh it accurately, ideally with a picture of the item on a scale. Multiply the weight in grams by 0.375 (9ct) and multiply that by the spot price. Maybe try selling at say 2-3% over spot value and see what happens. Good luck!

I quite like them. I put a tube of mixed dates together ranging from 2011 to 2020, they are all in good nick. I like that they are a bit different, smaller, thicker and unreeded edges.

I don't have many milky coins at all, but far and away the worst is a superman maple. Lovely coin but truly horrible shape. Only really keep it cos I couldn't give it away!

Pre 2015/6 RCM and RM stuff, especially the proofs. I think the mirrored fields are more prone than frosted on most coins, with a notable exception to Perth Mint. At the end of the day it could happen to any silver, its just that it really matters on proofs, not so much on bullion. Silver proofs are always a gamble...

I think that job would be up there with the worst jobs imaginable. I would actually feel sorry for them.

I think I might save up for one of these and sail around looking for all those stacks 'tragically lost in boating accidents'. It would pay for itself in no time!
