  1. No, but the Ag 925 on the reverse means its certainly not 400 years old. That and the Condition...
  2. Cheers, now I know. Can't be easy that engraving business to be fair...
  3. I noticed this on an 1819 crown (not mine). I know next to nothing about these, but the 'S' in SOIT looks to be overstamped, maybe misaligned. Has anyone seen this before? PS- not getting excited about finding anything special - just curious.😅
  4. Apparently they are not being released in the same order. As only the RM can explain...
  5. Hi, numista is normally your best bet for these types of coins. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces66222.html Sadly there is no great demand for this type of coin and they generally sell for spot plus a couple of pounds at best. Nice coin though. Hope this helps.
  6. Disappointment with the size of your 50g gold ingot is a good problem to have. It's stunning!
  7. I had the same thoughts on this bar. I opted for a decent capsule. Reasons being - 1. It is better protected, it won't get dinged or scratched. 2. The OMP plastic will eventually dry and crack, it will look manky and let in air so the bar will tarnish. 3. I very much doubt it will affect the value. I'd buy the lovely one in a capsule before the dodgy one in OMP - but as you can see above this is a personal thing.
  8. Since the GBH that my wallet suffered at the hands of the new proof sovereign, buying has been somewhat curtailed recently. Today a spotless 2012 Brit arrived, the latest installment of the longest running silver Brit date run in history, 2 years in, half way through! Other recent stuff I dont think I've posted here are 2 more krugs for the tube, some more good grade .500 half crowns & florins - love these. Also the Olympic 50p and last but not least the 2015 Longest Reigning Monarch crown which has the beautiful James Butler portrait which is glorious in silver.
  9. It is.i wasn't going to buy today, but joined the queue at 14.22, and landed at number 500ish. Was in stock at the time,
  10. If it is then that's one less for your future self to compete with though!
  11. Beaten to the punch on a terrible joke. That's a sad state of affairs!!! Cheers for the sympathetic superlike @Darr3nG - if I could I would return the favour.🤣
  12. Now there's a man that enjoys life. More than he enjoys brushing his teeth at any rate.😀
  13. I had a quick look earlier and they appear to have gone for anywhere between £700 and £1200 - that's a fair old spread! I agree that as with all Alderney coins the portrait is a huge problem, its really poor, but as you said, they are 24k, lovely reverse. Unfortunately I'm not in a position just now to buy unless I sell, so I'll have a long old think about it.
  14. As per the title. I was out today and saw the Alderney set tucked at the back of a jewellers window display at a price that means I could (roughy) sell my proof sov, pocket 50 quid and have the 3 coin Alderney Una set (full, half, quarter) Much as I love my sovereign, the set is gorgeous and I'm a wee bit tempted. Any and all opinions welcome... Not a great shot, but this is the set.
  15. It will probably be sold pre-tarnished!
  16. You could just buy a £400 Dyson hairdryer for the real love of your life, your shiny deserves the best!!
  17. Hi, do you have all 56 of these? I think they look great, but have never took the plunge as I really don't need to be chasing 56 5oz coins!!, and I think one could very easily lead to another. We all know how it tends to go!!!😂 is that the proof version?
