  1. Yeah, I have a lot of Wilhelminas. I find them classy and they are usually not expensive at all. Last year I've managed to snap 12 during the March sell off with only 0.3% premium (from a Dutch shop). All but one of the coins were in great condition.

Is this the right time to buy gold coins or do people think the spot price will get lower, checked some UK websites, not many sovs left in some.

Probably a stupid question but if you dont ask.

    Thanks

This is not a crisis like anything we could have imagined. It will hit the financial system hard, but right now the real gold are respirators, desinfectants and gloves. At least here people are freaking out and fighting over bread. I want to buy this dip, but I am a bit worried if I will actually receive my stuff any time soon. Countries are closing borders. Who knows if the EU will actually exist.  And in the local auction site, people are rising prises, not lowering them

same thing i tried to say several post ago yesterday, very few are noticing the decoupling...

Uh, oh, I just checked some german forums and they are on it again (panic buying). The austrian dealer that I used recently is nearly empty and only has Austrian Mint bars and coins. I actually want to get wet too, but might not be able to make a bank transfer due to new corona measures...

  4. On several german dealers' websites and on gold.de you can read that "Due to increased demand there may currently be longer delivery times".  The premium has also rised on all products, even big gold bars (https://www.gold.de/aufgeldtabelle/)

At the same time derivative speculators are dumping gold.... A clear sign of price decoupling...

  5. It it looks too thick. The space between the gold bar and the dark edge of the card looks too big, although I am comparing with my 1 oz bar.  I would be surprised if it is not fake.

I checked the bar again and these imperfections where the serial number lies do not exist on mine.

  6. it's very dissapointing to watch this. but we should hold on to our gold. remember that the only solution they have is more printing. and everything is only going to get uglier and harder for the elite to manage (provided we all don't die out of the corona)

    Of interest to some?

Although I cited above that I have a 1957 20 Pesos Restrike and that I am pleased to add an 'original' issue 1919 date- perhaps anyone holding a 1959 'Restrike'  might actually have a 1959 'Original' Strike of this coin?

I guess eventually the riddle of the differences might eventually be definitively answered? But in the meantime, I'll likely keep buying them- I don't think its possible to tire/ ever have too many México 20 Pesos Gold coins in your stack 😉

Hello, I posted a photo of my two 20 pesos in the "Today I received" thread. I bought the coins from France. The premium was about the same as from Atkinsons offer posted above. I didn't really have a choice of what I would receive and I got two 1959 coins. I don't belive you can differentiate the 1959 original from the restrikes that were done with the same die. However, at some point during the 60s or 70 they started using a new die and the production was done at a new site. One of my coins looks sharper, the details are clearer. This might be hard to see on photos (especially with my bad camera). I belive the coin in question is a new die restrike, while the other is just a 1959 coin/restrike :) None of them are matte, of that I am sure. I love the 20 pesos and might buy more of them in the future.
