The florin was only introduced properly in 1849 (1848 ones are very rare). However after some criticism they changed the design; most notably including dei gratiam (or an abbreviation thereof) and changing to using Roman numerals. The absent dei gra on the 1848/9 florins led to them being colloquially referred to as "Godless florins"

Sorting shields, currently on 1844 and found first overdate, 4 over inverted 4 as listed in Marsh (R2).
Not the best grade unfortunately but have a few more to check so hopefully will turn up a better one! This coin realised £2640 in VF condition in the Bentley collection in 2013

Another couple of little beauties from HGM, look lovely, and one is 1908 which I didn't have. Got 3 1910's now though.

Big thanks to @steve1905 for these Britannia coins particularly the 2006 which is quite difficult to source. Nearly went disastrously wrong notwithstanding me sending a postcode for a house I lived in over 10 years ago! Don't know what that was about, the power of the subconscious I guess? Big thank you to the manager of the sorting office who tracked it down and re-addressed the parcel!

My 1oz silver Marlin arrived today. This coin is the most impressive I've seen with the mirror finish waves around Her Majesty's head and the style of finish surrounding the Marlin.

1988 Proof Eagle. Really nice condition. Unfortunately I sent for a 1986 Proof Hopefully I can get a swap.
The pictures show it toned but it's actually perfect silvery
Edit : ..this is a great dealer. He says just keep it and i'll get a refund.
Update: I decided to just accept $5 refund to cover my shipping cost when I resell I don't want to take advantage

@Ansel
For some reason that Panda seems very happy about the "missing" Eagles. Now he gets the spotlight.

A 2018 Panda and 5 (invisible?) American Eagles in caps. Well they were in caps, they are now nestled in a full tube.

1880 Half Sov 1B die (129) with obverse 4, probably a VF received this morning. Ebay BIN, seller had a bit of a high price, but agreed to my substantially lower offer, which might still have been a bit high, too late now ? 325 down to 200 offered.
I was looking for an 1880 low relief obverse 4 variant, not 100% sure this is it, but if Marsh is right, it ought to be as the others are obverse 5. In any case, I like it for what it is, a presentable young head half sov.
