I'd just put them all into an Excel file line-by-line. Perhaps to start with, have columns for denomination, date and monarch.  Then perhaps add mintage (just for interest) and estimate of grade, and then maybe estimate of value.
    Shouldn't take you too long!

Wow.. I just googled this coin dealer to see if he was still knocking around but it looks like he moved on from coins!

Here’s my 1887 silver set, taken out of similar ‘Victoria Jubilee Specimen Set’ box, with the addition of an 1887 Sovereign.
Those were the days as a numismatic collector (not any more!) gradually filling up the box - that was the enjoyment, especially when complete. 🙂 @EvilLandlord
Photo is a size comparison - I’m sure you can identify them all, even the ‘Barmaids Ruin’?……

Here's an example of an 1887 'Wreath' sixpence.  I also have an example of the Withdrawn type, but don't have a photo of that coin.  But here's an 1887 shilling with the same design - you already have one of these in your set:

Also possibly of interest are a couple of newspaper clippings he had.

I’ve not purchased anything but, having looked in the past, it seems to be a site that other coin businesses advertise on.
Not sure about the .co.uk suffix though. I think it was a .com American site.

I agree with a lot of this, Paul, especially your last comment. I’m guessing (perhaps wrongly) that you haven’t paid off a mortgage though and hold the deeds to your property? For peace of mind I decided to splash out on a 10 inch wide safe deposit box to store my deeds rather than filing them somewhere inconspicuous in the house.
Plenty of room for the slabs etc now in my larger box and some spare room if you want me to store some of your nice 2oz gold pieces there?  😁

The nearest safe deposit place for me is realistically London .  I can just imagine walking the side streets of that wonderful save city and it's lovely people with a rucksack full of gold sovereigns .

Little and often. Builds your core stack.
My "best value" gold bought in the good old +3% over spot from HGM has nicely doubled and a bit on top, also some lovely always reasonable purchases from @arshimo2012 here on the forum in the early days.
Good foundations always make for solid decisions
As i learn, I'm now " quality over quantity " pf70 coffins of big gold 5sov or 2oz gold
Hopefully 3-4 large perfect purchases a year will pay dividends in my twilight years in a few decades time
Some Perfect proofs are at bargain prices at the moment.
My last £5 five sov memorial sovereign pf70 for £3000
Less than RRP ! These are totally stunning
I'll add it with the others and worry about the current dip in a 25years time

Tended to stay away from the numismatic side of things but just out of probability some runs are appearing. This just shows bullion (top box) or proof (middle box) and also shows half’s (bottom box) as I’ve stumbled over a few on the journey. They are a mix of mints.

Might take a month off as I really overspent this month to hit kg 😂 but will carry on.
for me it’s just a good way of saving as I am rubbish with money and if it’s in the bank it quickly gets spent on expensive toys and rubbish off Amazon.
No real plan on what I’m saving for! I’m lucky as mortgage all paid off so there as an emergency fund or just nice for retirement 🥳🎉
Really wish I was introduced to this way of saving 25 years ago.

Well done @Skyfiller! You must be proud.
1KG of gold....a big extension on the house, a fancy car (if that's your thing), a child's University tuition, world travel....etc.
Or just drawdown, a sov a month to supplement your pension.
Whatever....a great position to be in 😊

Totally awesome to have a kilo in gold in sovereigns alone 👏👏👏
I am on a similar journey of trying to reach a kilo of gold, but mine is split between all different types of coins and bars.

Purchased a special sovereign off @James32 last week which means I owe a massive thanks to everyone on TSF as I've hit the 1kg of gold in full sovereigns 🙂 (That's 137 to save anyone counting 😂).
I started this journey just under 3 years ago after happening upon TSF after looking up what one was worth that was given to me by my grandparents when I was born. Gave myself the target of 1kg in 10 years (1 per month plus a few) and have smashed that. Honestly the best decision I've done and a great little nest egg for retirement. Here's to the next kg and once again, thank you all 😀🥰

Interesting to have these strategies/preferences if you can afford them, and you obviously can, but I suspect most TSF members are less ambitious.

I’ve often referred to ‘plastic coffins’ myself, only because I don’t do grading and prefer to keep proofs in their original capsules.
My ‘core’ bullion is split between sovereigns and 1oz gold, but 1/4 size proofs I find more enjoyable to collect now. Over the years I’ve collected almost everything, like betting on every runner in a horse race perhaps, but not for money!

As I’m already retired, my gold doesn’t figure in funding my lifestyle, just possessing it is my real attachment. I guess we are all different…..👍

I've got plenty in my core bullion stack, I've no real emotional attachment to
I now like larger/ heavy piece 5sov or 2oz gold in PF70 plastic coffins as a treat a few times a year. Quite happy to keep doing this now ongoing, buying quality over quantity
it will hopefully pay off well in retirement out pacing melt/spot appreciation

If the holes in your socks are in different places then just wear 2 pairs per day.
There’s no need to divert funds away from gold. Just be resourceful.
