to me gold is a universal money. if i take say mexico peso's to india no one would take them for trade but if i travel to any country with gold i can get the local currency and be fine. i know some of you will bring up bitcoin but bitcoin is dependent on the internet and in my mind not as good as gold in hand.  jim

You can exchange gold for any currency in the world at any jewelers/ pawn shop.
Its why pilots used to get a few Sovereigns in their belt in case they crashed behind enemy lines (Iraq war).

It was in Mike Maloney’s old book:

He is giving it away free! A good read no matter what you think of him (as he sells gold and silver himself).

Hi guys - Hope this is ok but just joined to perhaps get some info on these 1kg bars. I paid £500 each for them thinking that was a good deal at current prices. Just wondering if they would come in to a collectors thoughts and may be worth more. Thanks for any info - struggling to find much info on google.

Fantastic little auction buy. No silver sadly. I’ve only opened 25% tubes which mainly contain Uncirculated coins, apart from a couple of the old penny tube which was was full of used coins.

This pic is almost 3 years old now and well before I went bonkers on poured silver, but it's the best I can do since I'm too lazy to get everything together these days.

And last one for now - William and Mary shilling, from 1692.  I love this design too and wish I had a better example!
