A friend of mine did this. His mum was then silly enough to let the TV licence people in when they came knocking and they caught him watching Sky. However, when it went to court he claimed that he was using Sky to record everything and watch it later so was never watching live TV and didn't need a licence. They couldn't prove he was lying so he got off!

RM dealers are given a data sheet of any new coin due out, that gives embargo dates for the information and when the coin will / can be sold, sometimes they are the same date. On some issues you get information or the chance to register your interest in advance, and others just appear for sale out of the blue, on the great engravers RM have announced the coin prior to sending any information to their dealers.
So at this time there is nothing to embargo, all the information known is in the public domain .

    Update:
I received my replacement coin today. Let’s just say it won’t fetch a MS70 grade but it is a heck of a lot better than the previous monstrosity they sent me. All in all I’m pleased with the outcome.

I think it depends on the reason people want them, they are apart of history.
There is the argument history forgotten will repeat itself.
Apparently when they was graded and sold off alot of money did get given to charities.

Per pcgs "there are 4 direct retailers of these coins, that the two largest have committed to donating between 6% and 12% of the gross sales price to the fireman/victims".
I think it's fair to say that people made a lot of money from these and I doubt pcgs did the grading free out of patriotic duty or respect for the victims, i also dont think resellers are doing anything but trousering the profit.
Im not a communist and dont mind people making money but plastering the flag on this, donating an insignificant portion of the profits and pretending this is some patriotic statement is hypocrital and morrally wrong. if everything was done for free and these were a genuine fundraiser I think that would have been a fantastic thing and a great opportunity to really help people but they are just not that.
I agree that we should learn from he past and not forget history however I'm not sure it's really necessary to do it this way. I doubt it would go down well if pcgs were to verify gold teeth found in the aftermath of the holocaust, stick a star of David on the label and donate 6% to a survivors charity and I dont really see this as much different. Sadly I'm sure there are plenty who would actually do this if they thought they could get away with it and I'm equally sure there would be buyers.
I don't mean this as a dig at buyers or collectors (of the wtc coins not the teeth, if you want those you should be on a register somewhere), I can see why they would want these as interesting pieces for the collection. My issue is with people profiteering from what happened.
I put this up there with those people making keyring etc. from russian tanks in Ukraine and selling them to people who think somehow they are helping or supporting Ukraine whilst being blind to the fact people died to get your silly trinket.

Considering how patriotic the average American is you would think profiteering from 9/11 would be a lynching offence, shameless really.
Given there's no numismatic value to the coins I'd put this up there with someone trying to sell a singed fiver from Greenfell for a profit.

That’s mad pricing, but what a coin!
do you think the rich are starting to buy coins for a tax break? Or do you think the petition sold for a fair price ?

they buy paintings that look like a 3 year painted it for millions for tax breaks

this just sold for 15 milllion dollars!

Seeing these super high prices during uncertain times we live though, gives some hope the love will stay for this Great Engravers series long term
Once credit is easy again, inflation is under control, mortgages affordable, fuel/heating is normal, folk are positive and generally happy again.
The initial hype/love will return for the series, that has gone lukewarm a bit currently

It's like some of the shipwreck coins. Some history attached, but the coins themselves don't tell the story (as in the design, mint marks, etc), and without the certificates they're indistinguishable from their generic peer.
Shipwreck silver can have a lot of environmental damage, though. I've seen dealers inflating value on Duoro sovereigns, but in reality the Duoro sovereigns are quite many, when they went into the market prices took a hit.
Quite, because in this case it is the certificate/holder/label being collected, not the coins themselves

    Etc etc
Some English Commonwealth designs, too. They are beautiful designs but I shan't touch them. I shan't touch any of the traitor coins either, although they seem pretty popular among collectors.

Gold will have to literally go to the moon to outperform a traditional pension scheme, I would strongly suggest getting professional financial advice.
For example my pension scheme I put in 40% of my base salary and my employer puts in 8%.  My contribution may look high but the nature of my work means only about half my monthly wages comes from my basic salary which is the only part that is pensionable.  I am in an 'at source scheme'. and my company add their contributions to my salary so I save 40% tax and 2% NI on the whole lot.  So the stocks & shares in my pension would have to more than half in value before I was in a loss, and even then due to my age a reasonable % of my pension is not in stocks and shares.
Appreciate if your in a private pension scheme and/or pay tax at the lower rate your risk exposure would be different, but consider you will never take a loss on any investment you have not exited.  Maybe buy gold or put your cash elsewhere as well as keeping your pension, so if the markets are in a poor state when you want to retire you can leave your pension and spend your savings/gold/other investments and wait out the market.  If were ever in the situation where the market is that bad investments are worthless we will be in a SHTF situation anyway and it will likely be a case of 'if you don't hold it you don't own it', and you will want physical gold not digital.  I think diversification is the key, reducing your contributions to invest elsewhere may be better then switching 'all-in' to gold.  If you are already of retirement age perhaps take your 25% to put into physical gold, without knowing more about your circumstances making suggestions is quite tricky though, so a healthy pinch of salt is required for everything I have said.
As @Silverlocks said, this is purely opinion and is in no way financial advice.
