I’m not sure if any other members have posted about this but it has been released by The Royal Mint that there will be a Coronation Sovereign.
I take from this that there will be, of course, aside from the STOD 6th May 2023 Sovereign, a new Coronation proof sovereign and a bullion sovereign to come.
Maybe we won’t see a return to the usual St.George and dragon sovereign until 2024?
Wether you collect, buy, trade or see the posts here on the forum in passing fleet, we truly are living through history at the moment.
You might say or think that it’s the 1902 of today when Edward VII was crowned King on the death of his mother or the moment when George V came to the throne in (1910) with his coronation of 1911 or maybe in 1937 when George VI was crowned.
The point is, I could go on, but I don’t want to.
The passing of one monarch to the next, however sad on a family level and on personal level is difficult.
But, move on we must and not a year ago could we imagine people trading and advising on Charles III coins. That’s how fast time goes.
Anyway, here we are, Coronation Day. 6th May 2023.
This might just be the one to own.

We really are living through history at present.

There aren't really any capsules that fit sovs correctly.  There are 22mm caps, but they tend to be either air-tites (more on this later) or a bit loose - Leuchtturm and the no-name ones are all designed for other coins such as 1 euro coins and just happen to fit the sovs.
Air-tite A22 and T22 fit sovs, although with some the A22 is a tight fit and can be a bit of a faff to get some back out (Gillicks are prone to this).  The black ring T22 caps are a better fit but the black rings are not to everyone's taste.  Air-tites are quite expensive and also of limited availability in the UK, often necessitating importing from the manufacturer or a U.S. based vendor.
The short answer is that there is really no good solution for storing sovs in caps.  There are OK solutions, expensive solutions and expensive solutions that are reasonably good but not to everyone's taste. 
You could also go old school and just store them in flips.  For long term storage, get mylar ones with no PVC.
For reference, I just sucked up the cost and hassle and went with air-tites.

Yes all spin-on capsules have a little extra depth. Best way to solve this is to add a tiny piece of insert just to stop your coin moving. But in any case the coin moving in a capsule shouldn't do any harm as long as there isn't any debris inside.

I stopped believing the silver talk which claims it will be £100 an ounce,  or even £5000 an ounce right around the corner, any day now! I think if that did happen, a loaf of bread would be a tenner or something. For me silver is just a convenient way to hold a more fractional form of wealth. I don't see it as scheme to get rich. If anything I've lost money on silver at the moment (VAT and premiums will do that). Gold is the safer option for sure, it's been pretty clear to me since I've been in this hobby that the price is steady and seems to keep up with inflation really well. My first ever sov cost me £190 back in 2013 i think, now it's intrinsic value is about 380 quid at the time of writing this. So to me at least gold is the clear safe haven.
 
 
 

I bought a sov capsule recently from our friends in Blackpool, but noticed the coin rattles around a lot in it. It's 22.5mm. But I noticed my other capsules are not as deep and the coin does not rattle about as much. The new capsule I received today looks like I could fit 2 sovs in it (stacked on top of each other obviously) I just thought it seemed weird and wondered if I'm missing anything.

I really like the modern copper sovereign. It's still nearly a quarter ounce of gold, costs as much as the monthly grocery bill, and when I can afford one, I feel I'm doing good things instead of wasting my money on frivolities like Sky tv, magazines and takeaways.  I even like the Charlie portrait and if you shop around, they're cheaper than a Gillick.

I too sometimes wish they would go back to the older way of making the sovs, you can't beat that golden luster. Saying that however, the newer sovs  golden copper look is growing on me slightly and I find they have their own strangely attractive charm.

Or just get James to buy for you.
