Oh yeah, they also want to know if people want to see a silver soverign, aside from the silver loving @GoldDiggerDave who would want that? 😉

Oh dear, did anybody else get the mints soverign survey today?
Lots of questions about what 'innovations' you would like to see in future soverigns. Some of the suggestions were tags so you could see where they were made, security features, privy marks, whether you prefer rose gold, special monarch portraits and most bizarrely of all 12 sided coins.
Somebody in charge there really needs to be fired. You have a coin with a legacy of hundreds of years and they think the best thing they can do is change it! I do like the very occasional special soverign but it's the rarity of these that make them special.
Surely the whole point of a soverign is consistency and the fact its recognised worldwide. You start messing about with that and you ruin the legacy of what many would agree is the definitive coin of the royal mint.
All for a quick cash grab on the ever more pricey and ever less popular proof sets.

Instinct and the evidence of my own eyes looking at the world around me also leads me to believe this. Manipulators may try as they will to bring the price down, but world events dictate otherwise, and with everything going to hell in a handcart (when was the last time anyone actually heard some really good and positive news..?) the fiat value of gold will continue to rise with only minor fluctuations.

Robert Kiyosaki was chatting to some guy who said...
How long does it take to fill a stadium with drops of water?, if you start at 1 drop the first minute, then 2 drops the second minute, 4 drops the third, 8 the fifth etc.
The answer is 50 minutes, not really surprising. That exponential grain of rice on a chessboard thing.
What I found interesting was how full the stadium would be after 45 minutes, and the answer was 7%. The guy went on to explain that global debt was exactly the same thing.
So I'm imagining this inevitable juggernaut coasting along, and it feels like something that could be controlled, contained, reversed, soft-landing. However you want to put it...until the 45minute mark then the hyperinflation curve hits, and it'll be tsunami-like.
And I wonder how many minutes are we into this scenario?

I was watching SilverDragons and the coin shop owner, Harry, has said gold is flooding in to his shop and he's buying a lot of it but selling comparatively little. His explanation was the psychological $2000/oz level which is maybe similar to the £400/sov price. People that bought gold years ago or even in 2019 are very happy to sell at today's prices but fewer of the long-term stackers are happy to buy at these prices. Like Adrian said though, $2000/oz could well be the new floor and a year from now we'll all think £400/sov is cheap

People are holding off - waiting for spot to drop - but I believe gold is setting a new low - and when people realise this - the spending will start again.
(Although there's a very good chance of a pre-recession liquidity crisis which can hammer it down for several months. Opportunities for traders I guess, but anyone holding strong will win long term regardless of what happens).

Here is a good interview on the situation in the Red sea, along with some of the possible implications.  Looks like there might be some attempt to combat the Houthis militarily, but realistically there would need to be a massive campaign if it were to be successful in reducing their capability.  So far there doesn't appear to be much in the way of economic fallout, but as we know, everything in shipping is delayed, so by the time people take notice in January, there will already be significant delays in the pipeline.  The Panama canal is currently operating at reduced capacity due to low water levels in the lakes the last few years, so some traffic which could go the other way around the world will definitely not be able to.
Where this leaves the precious metals is anyone's guess.  Another war could be beneficial for gold as the risk of regional conflict starts to rise again, The fallout from economic damage and energy inflation could also trigger a rush to safe havens, although gold price has been trading inverse to oil of late.  Delivery shortages might initially raise the price of commodities such as Silver, before dropping it as interest rates and economic pressures start to reduce demand for goods.  Lots of variables to consider, but I don't think the West can really afford to let this drag on for the long term.

How much are you willing to spend, I have a pre loved heavy guage celtic warriors bangle, but it is more exspensive than your second one pictured. We have it listed for £229 but would accept less to a forum member.

For the sake of interest I just went and measured the weight of five different sovereigns. No two were the same. I should add however that the scale I used is a cheap chinese piece of tat which I purchased on Amazon for a fiver - looks almost exactly the same as the one @Upsidedown is using -  and was originally intended to weigh crossbow bolts with. It's good enough for that little job..🧐   It also only provides results to two decimal places.
    here are my results :
    1862 shield : 7.95g
    1903 : 7.94g
    1919 : 7.98g
    1965 : 8.00g
    2018 : 8.01g
