  1. My favourite silver I own, but my wallet took a battering over Christmas and I am now as poor as a Church mouse
  2. @fiveshotdon has the SOTD platinum, not sure about the normal sov
  3. I must have misread I thought you were selling 🤷‍♂️ good price I think
  4. These work OK with slabs @Gordy ? The ones I have are great for coins in capsules but slabs sit over the slots
  5. Nice Christmas Eve-Eve delivery today A 5g bar from @Colnago and an 1884M shield from off the forum. My first in a CGS slab
  6. My stacking goals for next year: Couple more pickups for my Young Head G&D date run Pick up a couple more plain edge BU SOTD top pops if they come up at the right price Still want a couple of PF70 privy mark years full sovereigns Maybe a couple more Viente, none restrike years Main goal I guess will be to try and get my stack back to what it was (in weight) before I sold off a chunk this year to clear my mortgage I don't expect to achieve all of it, but if I can tick a couple of I will be happy. Whether I concentrate on getting my stack weigh back up or try for more bucket list coins will depend on where the market is at I guess.
  7. No income tax, no VAT No money back, no guarantee
  8. Clickbait at its finest, I doff my hat your way @fiveshotdon
  9. I would normally start with Numista to find mintages for anything not minted by Royal Mint
  10. IOM Crowned Shield half sovereign, made by Pobjoy Mint under licence Don't see many of the crossed shield type, worth a small premium over the standard IOM sovereigns which sell pretty well considering they are secondary mint coins 310 Euro's seems a good offer
  11. Couple of bits today, my prize for the bonus draw in the Christmas raffle, many thanks to @trp for arranging again this year And a Canada sovereign I picked up outside of the forum
  12. Welcome, good luck on your stacking journey. Other dealers to try: HGM Tavex Bairds Gerrards Britannia Coins Sharps Pixley ATS I would also suggest using the price comparison on the forum - https://www.thesilverforum.com/compare/uk/ I am unsure if this requires a premium membership or not. Generally dealer prices can and will be beaten on here, but always worth checking dealer prices before pulling the trigger on a forum purchase as it is not always the case.

    Stack Tracker

Was editing a blank version of the spread sheet I use to track my stack for another member and thought it would be useful to share to see if anyone else could use it I also thought other members may have something similar or better others could make use of. Inventory Blank.xlsx This will allow you to add your coins in, enter price paid and the premium you believe they should be worth (currently all set to 5%). If you then update spot it will work out their current value and your profit/loss on current prices. You can add in new rows and the calculations will pick them up, but always add to the middle of a section not the first or last row. If you do not have any of a particular type you can just delete the rows from both the top and the body of the spreadsheet and it should keep on working. Its not super complex and the formula's are pretty easy to follow if you wanted to add in any different types, but I am always happy to help out a fellow member if they are not very IT literate or cannot follow what I have done. No guarantee I have got everything 100% but I am happy to update and re-attach to this thread should anyone find a bug, or if others with more IT skills than I can make improvements even better @Earthmetal as promised
  14. Next time I’m on the laptop will add 10ths in for you and drop you a pm, let me know if you have other sizes
  15. Will depend on your stacking goals and your exit strategy If all you plan is to accumulate as much weight as you can and sell to a dealer as part of your retirement plan, stack the lowest premium coins you can get. Over time you may find you have a preference for a certain portrait or gravitate towards special reverse. Lots of people will try and put together date runs of coins which can make stacking more enjoyable but you risk ending up paying a premium for lower mintage years. If you plan to sell privately I would say stack what you think is going to be popular in the future. I do this and 75-80% off my stack is pre-1887 sovereigns. This of course is an assumption on my part that age will add value over time. An argument could be made those moderns people turn their noses up now could well become the popular coins with future stackers, the mintage numbers are certainly lower. I also park money in Gold apart from my longer term stack and for that I tend to buy moderns, special reverse mostly (2002/2005/2012/2022/2022/2023) and these I sell when I need money. I find these sell very quickly when priced right. I also try and keep 10% of my stack in premium coins, proof and graded. This is a hedge against market trends. If I need to sell and bullion is going for low premiums or is hard to sell at the time it is often the case the graded or proof market will still be buoyant. Last bit of advise, keep detailed records. Date, seller, price paid, what price spot was at the time, as much as you can. Take a picture of everything you buy and keep it. Also keep a record of your stack with approximate values. I have a spreadsheet for this that you can add coins to and an estimate of the premium it would currently command. You just add the current spot price, details of the coin and the premium and it will tell you everything you need to know, I will attach a blank copy here for you to have a play with. It is only set up for full and half sovereigns at the moment but it can quite easily be tailored for other coins. If you do use it when you add a row, do it in the middle of a section otherwise if upsets the calculations Welcome to the Goldbug club Inventory Blank.xlsx
  16. Raw I have both half’s if of any interest, only have graded fulls
  17. They pretty much did with the migration improvement but people whinged so it got changed back Had filters and views the lot. I think the main complaint was the splitting out of private and business sellers but I liked the flexibility the filters gave
  18. I think you may need to get that appraised by someone more knowledgeable than me Zac, I selected that one as it does appear it may be more matte - really tricky though with your Vaseline coated lens. I would suggest you stick it in a capsule for now and get some much better pictures. @Belmont would be a good starting point once you have them. I think the chances are slim though so do not get too excited
  19. The graded section on here does not seem to get a lot of traffic I have to say, when you compare listing views to those in the ungraded section
  20. Surprised these are still hanging about 🤷‍♂️
