  1. I bite it all between me teeth like a pirate, oh-arrrr
  2. They were 19 in a tube before but last years QEII's was 20, they are so very tactile, same size as a sovereign as well so if you want to put them in a capsule its easy to get them
  3. The 8g would not be unusual on that type of scale, And all the pictures you have posted look like they are fine on the Sigma too, I can see two where the read is just outside the [ ] but given you are not using the wand I would not be in any way worried, the 0 is literally just outside the [ ]. If the 0 was not visible and there was an arrow, then I would worry. I think you are absolutely fine mate, all looks good to me, but if your really worried do a specific gravity test. Just go on YouTube to see how to do it but literally all you need is scales (which you have) and a bowl of water.
  4. Max sells on some of the Facebook groups and Britannia Coins have a group on there as well. He posts some absolute crackers, I bought an 1848 Shield Sovereign from him yesterday which hopefully I will be posting up here Tuesday when it lands
  5. Top seller he is, would love to get him posting on here
  6. Was that from Max Hughes by any chance?
  7. A tube of 1/4oz Brits for me today, ordered from RM Thursday evening so pretty quick for them These are the QEII ones and the tube of 20 from RM was actually cheaper than the tube of 19 KCIII's from Atkinsons Not to everyone's taste because of the premium but at £172 they were the cheapest I had seen them for a while
  8. Hooked, say bye bye to wasting money on tat, you will need it for Gold now, congrats
  9. I do not have the third one no, there are four on eBay but they range from £950 to £1150 which would obviously push up the cost average for you Just pm me if you want the two I do have, but there is no more movement on price I'm afraid
  10. Never seen one in person, though I think Duncan had one on his Insta at one point
  11. Ah right not noticed, to be honest I usually scan for 1848 (last one I need), any from Melbourne mint and then just look at condition. Stopped paying that much attention to dates most of the time. I am happy to keep an eye out on other platforms for you, found a few for other members in the past few months. I will add it to my list and drop you a message if one comes up
  12. Chevronetz? Chevinetz? Something like that. The ones with the farmer on them?
  13. If you go that route I think I have a spare 1877 shield or two, no G&D I don't think though I don't think I have a spare 1870 shield but they should not be too hard to find, there were no G&D that year but 1870 was the last year of the Australian Sovereign though, so not a bad one to keep an eye out for.
  14. Libertad Centenario Medal, 1961 was the first year of the 2 Rand as well I think
  15. I’m the same with 1972, so I stack 1872 instead. Super common year so easy to find I do have a few silver bits from 72, best probably a full set of Olympic silver Marks
  16. No 1977 sovereigns either mate, They started back up production in 74 but no 75 or 77
  17. I buy a fair bit from Nigel, he is very well known in the community and sells on the Facebook groups and runs an auction page that is very popular, terrible that this has happened He is in the process of moving to the shop next door so the physical damage should cause minimal disruption, but the hassle and the loss is going to be a pain
  18. Not sure where you have seen that but I dont think this is likely, and if you are putting it away for over a decade I don't see it matters too much, I think your plan to buy over time is sound and will let you cost average, so a tumbling price would not really have an major impact anyway. Don't listen to me though, I am a gold-bug
  19. Hi Adam, isn't this overweight and the wrong thickness? I thought double eagles were 33.43g and 2mm thick? The diameter is also wrong (should be 34mm) but the callipers are not touching the coin
  20. I was the same when I had my first large 0, I have two now I have a third as well which I think is the 'normal' variety I have seen a few of the large 0 sell as Marsh 43B though, so others may have differing opinions. And to be honest I would prefer to be wrong given I have two of them
  21. This is not a Marsh 43B, this is a large 0 variety which is not mentioned in Marsh but is as common as the 'normal' 1860 The 43B is not a large character, but it is an O and not an 0
