  1. Can someone say where these are for sale? You can re-word to ‘possible’ fake so auction house can’t complain? If sold as a batch like some were on line last week that is not a problem for me as that is out of my price reach, however, if they get away with this they could be slipping individual ones in?
  2. Probably find that those who ordered from the first coin will get a box with this one and anyone wanting all of them from today will get the box with the third. Matter of how many boxes they have made up already I imagine.
  3. As a newcomer to all this, can anyone recommend the best book for advice on sovereigns and half sovereigns?
  4. Yes, but gone quicker than the panther. When I logged in for that on its launch day I picked mine up quite late in the morning under ‘in stock’
  5. Well apart from one gold type, all have gone.
  6. Well, looks like people have been in and bought up pretty quick. Straight on to website to take a look, only one type … gold left. Gone quicker than the panther.
  7. Does that mean that there will be no fun of queuing Monday morning?
  8. Can you give some pointers as to why they are fake please?
  9. All this talk about bullion versions, just had an email from RM customer services. I had asked several days ago about possible bullion releases. The reply from customer services said, ‘ I am sorry I can not confirm anything about bullion releases as we only get informed about them 24 hours before release’!! Is their office even in the same building?
  10. Just be careful what videos you end up watching. Some people end up having some strange ideas about how to do things and what is safe. On here, Backyardbullion is the one to check up on and get advice. Remember, if you melt down 925 silver, you end up with 925 silver. Otherwise find someone on here to buy 999 grain from.
  11. Next week is the new proof coming out … the lion, the first bullion will also be the lion. I believe it wasn’t until the second queens beast came out that they started with the bullion ones.
  12. Unless you are just buying to flip, who cares what price these are going for on eBay or if the mint has coins left? I like mine, will be continuing and will not be flipping! At least its a coin series that the more everyday funded person can afford!
  13. They really don’t care about people worrying about finger prints etc on a coin, this is something that has gone on for hundreds of years, once done more than once a year, to try to ensure the quality of the coins produced. Therefore they actually have to handle the coins. If you don’t want a coin that’s been handled, then don’t stress, just don’t try to buy one. Looking at one of these, most people probably wouldn’t even realise that it had been handled.

    Sovereign Stats

Representing £1, a sovereign would be common for some people, however, back then a lot of people could only hope to get hold of one.

No where near now due to the two world wars. Either melted and sent to USA or sent and then melted all to pay our bills!
  16. The continuity was a choice that not everyone would have gone for, the sweetener was the box with the second coin.
  17. Prince Phillip only changed his name to Mountbatten in 1947 as part of the process he went through before the wedding. He got baptised into the Church of England, and became a naturalised British citizen. He obviously had his roots before that in the Greek and Danish royal families, seeing himself more of the Danish side.
  18. 2oz proof Britannia from Royal Mint. Ordered late Saturday night, turned up first thing this morning! Looks great.
  19. Not a fan of slabbed coins, but.. got my first 5oz Britannia
  20. I would start by googling the names/gold/silver/type, etc.
