apachebleu got a reaction from MBTPSilver in The Tudor Dragon Cometh in Bullion
I'm not sure why the dragon would be the exception to the rest of the series, they are all goofy and weird. I've grown to really like them but they are quite bizarre

I know it's going to have that weird squatting body like ratboy from the viz but I'm not having that head. The head shouldn't be trying to look like a fierce dragon, look at the statue, its a party dragon
She's all 5 spice girls in one body

Still, I suppose they are doing us a service reminding us all why we love the queens beasts so much.
It's fine, I'm still going to buy it, I'm enjoying collecting a set, keeps me buying bullion regularly and topping up the stack and it's more interesting than a brittania.

And there it is...this abomination has a name...caitlyn and the lion.
If it wasn't damned before it is now.

The lighting is really c**p at the place where I have my deposit box and I hadn't got my coronation set back from grading yet.
Modest by some standards here but not bad for about 2 and a half years. I do love my queens beast collection as that was a chore to collect without massively overspending.
Not too far away from a kilo, I would be there by now but my recent forays in to proof have impacted on 'weight' as a priority.

apachebleu reacted to Agaupl in Investigation into Historic Coin Pricing by The Royal Mint
My biggest worry is the quality control issues especially with proof coins but also the milk spotting on silver Brit’s. I’ve stopped buying silver RMint bullion completely now. Also generally poor customer service.
With the over pricing of these ‘historic sets’ they are now running the risk of becoming just like the mints selling coins out of magazine ads or unscrupulous 2nd hand car salesmen. The customers may be satisfied.. but that’s because they don’t yet know they are being ripped off.
The sets are well presented and can been seen as nice collectors pieces.. the issue is in the huge premium and when does this turn from fair premium to exploitation of the unwary. This would be poor for any company… but the fact that the Royal Mint is owned by HMT and literally lives and breathes of the history off the institution, the monarchy and indirectly the country. .. it’s humiliating for all involved.
The only thing that is milked more than the silver…are the Royal Mint’s customers.

apachebleu reacted to Shinus73 in NEW St. George and the Dragon coin with Garter inscription
None of the silver will win, all will be available below RRP in the coming months.
Generally, 5 oz silver has been a consistent loser in recent times, even with tiny mintages.

apachebleu reacted to Paul in NEW St. George and the Dragon coin with Garter inscription
M'ah not really arsed about this one to be fair.
G&D design is not in the least bit rare plus RRP price, cost of living, near ATH gold prices, last GE launch being luke warm at best.
I may be proven wrong but happy to let this pass today

George looking properly jacked on the silver coin, I reckon USADA may want a word after he's done with that dragon
