  1. Will there definitely be any bullion coins with the special design though?
  2. You can make just a regular card transaction. It's only the investment stuff that needs payment added to a wallet first.
  3. What's the latest TL;DR from this thread? Are we expecting there to be only proofs for sale on Monday, and bullion to follow?
  4. Darn, I would have been first if I hadn't added the "9am"
  5. Just got an email from RM confirming it's going to be available to buy from 9am on Monday 15 November.
  6. My point was that it's not unreadable if anyone with a smartphone can just scan the barcode to find out what it was
  7. I wouldn't trust a magnet to set a fake apart. Consider if the core of the fake is made of brass, bronze or copper.... They're cheap, but not magnetic, and they even behave similarly to silver in the magnetic slide test (i.e. they will glide slowly down a slide of magnets rather than just sticking or freefalling). They also have a reasonably similar density to silver, so a fake coin made out of those can be made to weigh the expected amount whilst having visually imperceptible differences in dimensions.
  8. If your intention was to make the number unreadable, remember you need to also obscure the barcode below it (it contains the same number!)
  9. https://www.chards.co.uk/storage-capsule-22mm/1574 At least one of these must be an error even if you take rounding into account! Aside: Not eligible, but you have at least 16 data tables that feature the key "Denmoination".
  10. Some bullion surprises back in stock at the Royal Mint: Britannia 2020 Oriental Border Gold 1oz Bullion Coin (limited stock) The Queen's Beasts 2019 The Yale 1/4 oz Gold Bullion Coin The Queen's Beasts 2018 The Unicorn 1 oz Gold Bullion Coin Plus tubes of 2016 and 2019 Sovereigns
  11. To compensate for the free gold, they've upped their silver prices https://www.hattongardenmetals.com/buy/silver-britannia-958 Only £2137.36 each if you buy more than one
  12. It means the dealer can offer you the cheapest ones they have, or the ones they want to get rid of quickest. I doubt a tube would contains mixed dates - they would probably all be the same date, you just don't get to choose what that date is. Sometimes you might even get the current year if that's all they have in stock!

    Excited

Surely you gotta buy more than one stacker... otherwise you cant stack!
  14. How strange! Does that suggest the first numbered COA (001) doesn't necessarily go to the first person to place an order, or might someone else have returned it for whatever reason?
  15. Incidentally, the Snowman 2021 50p will be available as the new Strike Your Own coin on the Royal Mint Experience tours from 19 Nov!
  16. This is a good thread for keeping tabs on new RM coins. The new Snowman stuff was posted in there when it was released on 18 Oct:
  17. Even I can tell that's fake from the photo of it. Please say I'm right, @LawrenceChard!
  18. Haven't done anything about it yet - I actually got 5 in total as that made them about £23 each (all 2014) during the silver dip earlier in the week and the rest were fine like yours.
  19. Thanks, I will likely do that. I'm sure it was probably just an oversight, and they are usually very good at taking things back and sending a replacement very quickly.
  20. That's how it arrived; I haven't removed it yet. Presumably the tarnishmonkeys crept in through the open gap. To be fair, it's not actually visible from the other side of the coin.
  21. Sanity check: That's not a reasonable amount of tarnishing even for a mixed date bullion coin, right? If the photo or description had suggested it would look like that I don't think I'd have bought it.
  22. Today I received this mixed dates Britannia from Sharps Pixley.... 😳
  23. Is that loose or is the capsule they provide not actually big enough to accommodate the coin properly?
  24. For just £5+P&P I am happy to offer this as a service for any coin!
