I'd just like to thank everyone for their gratitude over this. One member (I won't name them unless they want!) even wanted to send me some money as a thank you for posting the magic link, which was incredibly humbling! But the offer alone was thanks enough for me as I was totally not expecting anything as gracious as that. Besides, I will hopefully be receiving my own Sovereigns today, assuming nothing has gone wrong with my order!

Bizarre goings-on this morning! I popped out to post a letter, but saw a DHL van go past the end of my road. When I got to the end of my road, I could see it had turned into another junction to turn around and was heading back towards mine! Realising the significance of this, I was poised to run back up my road just in case it was about to drop off some lovely Sovereigns. Had it gone past my road by mistake and was merely turning around to get back to it? No! It just sailed past. I bravely post my letter anyway. I return to find no DHL undelivery notes (phew), but then I go to check my Royal Mint account and notice that the 5-sov set is indeed in my Closed Orders list, but no payment has been taken - it's even disappeared from my list of pending transactions now! Ruh roh!

That still seems like a massive unforgivable lie if one could own a proof edition simply by becoming a president of a small country (or anything else that also happens to be easier than surviving the queuing system).

I got a phone call to say my £11 postage charge has been refunded onto my account's prepayment credit. Fair enough, they know I'll be back! But they were seemingly oblivious to the email I sent yesterday, where I had asked for it to be refunded and also pointed out that I was unable to get free postage on the sovereigns. They also took the opportunity to ask me what kind of things I would be expecting to find in the box. I said a Sovereign would be nice! But failing that, some gold and silver things would be good. I'll be disappointed if it contains a limited edition A4 print of a Sovereign

Maybe next time RM should ship all 14,700 Sovereign sets to an Amazon Fulfillment Centre before putting them up for sale. They'd all be delivered the next day without any problems.

These will be my first proof sovereigns of any size, so I'm quite excited. I don't expect I'll buy any more, though! It was just the meaning behind this one-off design that lured me in.
