  1. The ASE does nothing for me, it’s the Buffalo for US coins every time, but … I just love Libertads.
  2. Part of the reason I buy forum bars is to have silver I can handle without a care.
  3. Just ordered mine, and the stock level is down to 162 now, hurry, hurry, hurry amigos.
  4. It just looks too bland to me, 50% of the coin means nothing, surely an image of Bletchley Park would have been more appropriate.
  5. A quick Google shows that late Victorian jewellery could be made from green gold, using cadmium and silver. I wonder if a naughty apprentice thought he could make a few bob melting down old scrap jewellery and casting a coin instead, and probably shortening his life-span due to toxic fumes during the melting phase.
  6. Topgun is in Texas, so Mexican libertads, American silver eagles, and Canadian maples will probably be the best starting point. They should all be easy to sell in a hurry, if money is needed elsewhere. How many ounces is a good stack? Ask yourself 12 months from now, it will probably be larger than you currently think 🙂
  7. That link just comes up as: We could not locate the item you are trying to view.
  8. Mine was similar to Iacabu’s, except the chocolate lasted for less time than his video. I was surprised at the variety, and I could give some of it to my great nephew to see if he gets the bug. Collecting old tanners should be within his budget.
  9. I received an RM Sovereign with the bubble-wrap inside, unfortunately the capsule still separated on the underside. There was less space for it to cause damage, but clearly the capsules are inferior to the earlier type. Maybe they should spend a bit less on boxes, and more on protecting the coins.
  10. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dragon-Apocalypse-Silver-Coin-Cameroon/dp/B0947HFXM7
  11. I ordered mine at around 15:50 and it was free postage. I used to love 'lucky bags' when I was a kid, and 50-odd years later it looks like I still do, the worst that can happen is I won't have to look for Xmas presents for the family.
  12. I don't care much for the monopoly money, but those coins are really attractive, lots of things to see in a small area.
  13. The 2022 Pandas should be arriving shortly, but they are only 30g, if that matters. The gold proof tiger looks good, but I watched the unboxing on Bullion Now in Melbourne (YouTube) and the colourised Tiger looks brilliant. I don't normally like painted coins but these tigers were made for it.
  14. When I was a kid (pre-decimal) half a crown was also known as half a dollar, so a dollar would have been the equivalent of 25p.
  15. I think the 100g forum bar is ideal for this purpose, either kept in it's bag or loose in the little pocket of Levis/Wranglers.
  16. I could see it replacing a Newton’s cradle in the CEO’s office, but for many I think the ping tester would be first stop.
  17. That’s a very interesting article, thanks for posting it.
  18. It does make you wonder why he didn't invest in a Canadian or US startup mine, perhaps the return was dazzling in Mongolia, 'all that glisters is not gold'.

RSP co. is probably the Raeno Silver Plate Company of Birmingham. It appears the slightly polished away banner above it says Raeno.
  20. Silver is heavy so local mints will always have lower transport costs. Perth mint has to get it's coins and bars halfway around the world to the UK, so it's not surprising they are more expensive compared with spot price, coins from the US mint face the same problem in Europe. I'd look at bars if all I was interested in was bullion, but then I'd face potential cgt costs at sale time. You can't win.
