FINALLY got my hands on the final piece to my Ghana Kwame Nkrumah coin collection. This 1965 gold £2 OAU Summit coin in its original case popped up on eBay last week. I have one graded top pop but only seen 1 other example in its original case online which was sold in an auction years ago. I suspect a lot of these have been melted down so this is a great find. Doubt anyone in the world has all of these in one collection so something to be proud of. @DuncanWylieWilson it took a while but I’ve finally made it to the promised land! 😂

Can't actually see anything wrong with this coin, I'd be interested to know why it deserved a 68, feel bad to break it out but got it for a good price 👍

Hi guys, I've been a bit quiet recently, but have been logging on and following the gold monitoring thread trying to keep up, not that I understand much of it, but love the banter.
Took a nervous punt on three halves at the end of March at 1770, and then held my breath and pulled the trigger on three more at 1860 last week. Was excited yesterday, but still ok, even with the drop.
Regards all

It might not be Christmas but it's still a selection box woo hoo!
We have a delectable choice of two silver ounce Charlies, a pretty little half sovereign to add some sparkle, and an individually wrapped one gram bar of golden pleasure. And why not, It might only be a gram but it's still a gram. And what do grams make? Yup, ounces. Besides, state of gold at the moment I can't afford anything else lo-lol. Happy gold and silver day - yayyyyyy!!!!

2024 Six Decades of 007 - The 1990s - 1/4oz gold and 2oz Silver Proof
The replacements arrived, and are in pretty good condition. Love the boat chase up the Thames; one of my favourite Bond scenes. A good choice for the 90's. What do they pick for the 2000's?

AL84 reacted to Samuel21 in 1805 Portugal half Escudos Joao Prince Regent Lisbon Mint. Extremely rare.
Hi all,
Haven't posted in a while. Here I have a wonderful 1805 Portuguese half escudos gold coin, it appears to be a metal detector find. With a mintage of only 3278 its a pretty rare coin. This type of coin commands strong prices. If this doesn't sell over the weekend I will be sending to NGC for conservation and grading. This is also an opportunity for a potential buyer as well. This coin weighs 1.84 grams which is over the true weight of the coin due to the debris included on the coin from the removal of the ground. References KM# 337 & Gomes# JR 28. The link below is to show of the value of the coin I have for sale.

I am finding because the premiums are literally zero on most coins atm and hugely shrunk on the rest, I can still buy shields at a very similar price I was paying in January

AL84 reacted to DuncanWylieWilson in Venice Gold Ducats – Zecchino – Three Lovely Examples! – £550 Posted Each – UK 🇬🇧
Venice Gold Ducats – Zecchino – Three Lovely Examples! – £550 Posted Each – UK 🇬🇧
From its introduction in 1284 to the fall of Venice to Napoleon in 1797, the design of the Venetian gold ducat, more formally the zecchino, remained unaltered for more than 500 years.
Originally called a ‘ducat’ (‘ducato’) after the ruling Doge of Venice, it was latterly decided to describe such coins as zecchinos after the Zecca (mint) of Venice. The reason for this change was that in the year of 1543 Venice started to mint silver coins also described as ducats.
The obverse of these zecchinos feature a standing depiction of Saint Mark presenting staff to a kneeling doge (chief magistrate of Venice or Genoa). The letters ‘DVX’ alight vertically at the top of the staff.
The reverse boasts a forward-facing figure of Christ within a beaded, star-lined ellipse.
⛪️ Top left – Ludovico Manin – 1789-1797
⛪️ Top Right – Pasqual Cicogna – 1585-1595
⛪️ Bottom – Unidentified due to less defined legend. A nice example nevertheless.
Price is £550 each including fully-insured postage to mainland UK and Northern Ireland.
Payment via bank transfer to UK business bank account.
Thank you! 🌟
