Bigmarc got a reaction from monkey in Ahoy there...
This is probably the best way to buy in my opinion. If you have this on your doorstep then I would say it was the safest option. And if he takes cash then even better.

See this on the BBC, seems cheap.

Bigmarc got a reaction from CANV in bars or sovereigns . . . long term invest want to keep it simple 💰👑
Probably find that they changed their production method to increase volume and a change of alloy was needed to produce satisfactory results (less scratching, oxyidization, ect).
They wouldn't want to give a answer saying they changed what was tradition to get a extra 5 sovs an hour.
Complete stab in the dark

Bigmarc reacted to pmbug in Gold 2024: How low can it go?
As of the moment, the Fed has been signalling to markets that they are not likely to raise interest rates further. Markets are expecting a rate cut mid year next year, but the Fed has indicated that any cut might come later. It's possible that the Fed will face increasing political pressure to juice (from Biden/Democrats) or throttle (from his opponent/Republicans) markets as we get closer to November 2024.
Will the Fed be an independent actor, or intervene with monetary policy to influence election outcomes? I don't know, but it's something to consider.

Bigmarc got a reaction from Earthmetal in Any advice for a new uk based stacker ?
Don't tell a soul, don't buy in one place, keep records and only buy bits with a view of "how can I sell this" (unless you are planning to take it past the grave).
It's a nice hobby but would diversify a bit and put your money in other bits also.

Also worth remembering that Royal Mint don't produce their own blanks anymore, and I believe the change in the Sovereign alloy lined up with this change in production policy.

Like I said was just a shot in the dark on why.
The company I work for just purchased two robots for £130 grand. They sacked 3 people and this move saved them 2 euros per item on a £30,000 product. They make 500 items a day.
I can imagine someone is there at the royal mint doing a similar role.

BTC going to 1 million is the same as gold going to 1 million, it means the rest of the economy, fiat currencies and the global financial system have collapsed
My apologies I was trying to be moderate. I said I believe it's more likely you are correct than not on the future price action. I can still be unhappy about it even if I have a little skin in the game

Of the top of my head out of the 22 grand I would probably spend 10 grand on a watch. 2 grand on crypto and 10 grand back into metals.
Unfortunately at the moment this is my level.

Most people advise to buy the cheapest i.e. bars. However, keep in mind that reputable dealers generally pay below spot for bars in comparison to coins. Yes, bars are cheaper, but you’ll have to hold on to them relatively longer to see any return on investment. Plus selling bars to private individuals is much more tedious due to questionable provenance and risk of counterfeiting.

Bigmarc reacted to chris2982 in Silver Bullet Wanted
Hi all,
As title states I'm looking for a silver bullet.
Something along the lines of the one in the picture but I will happily consider other options.
As it's going to be for a gift I would prefer if it was in good condition, plus a box/case would be a bonus but not necessary.
Thanks in advance and take care,
Chris.
