Gibson96 reacted to ChrisSilver in Please state the metal of your item in the listing title
For ease of use for those looking to purchase coins in a particular metal, please state the metal in the topic title.

    e.g.

Instead of writing "30g Panda coin"

Please state "30g Panda Gold Coin"

It may also be useful to have separate listings for Gold/Silver and not to put them all into one combined listing. There may be some members exclusively looking to purchase Gold or to exclusively purchase Silver.

It is my plan to eventually have a filter system that can be used to easily filter out listings with particular precious metals. But this will require extensive development work to add the options and a filter system. So in the mean time, please state the precious metal in the title of your listing to help out buyers looking for items

A lot of sellers already do this, so thank you

Please feel free to copy the above template example and to use for your listings if it helps  Please just edit out the sample text above for your own applicable text.

The above is just an option to help and you are free to write your listings how you prefer. If popular may look at an option of pre-filling out trade listings with the above automatically, but again this would just be to help and would be optional for the seller to use. Though it may be beneficial to standardise listings and easier for buyers to see the key info  I will start a topic in the Platinum Lounge to discuss this.

I was sent the link yesterday as I thought it was odd that I couldn't find it on their website. I've given it a go but I am expecting a phone call from them trying to upsell the 50 gram version to me. I'm prepared for a long chat at their expense.

In my experience well over 50% of business that advertise on FB turn out to be scam. FB seems to make no effort whatsoever to remove these scam artists, prefers to profit from them and create a virtual Wild West.
With this advert, it just seems to good to be true. A company has overheads, packaging, postage, employees, unless this is a loss leader product, this sounds to good!

It is there, just classed as a 50g ingot for £125, not a 1oz for £25.00. I would recommend caution with this site as they have been known to be quite misleading. Here is the link if it is of interest:

Back in 1989 I remember reading the Sunday Times newspaper and in the colourful magazine section was a Royal Mint advert for the special 500th Anniversary of the Sovereign set.  At the time there was no way I could afford even the half sovereign (I think the half sovereign’s initial cost was about £79).  The double sovereign’s issue price was about £299, and after over thirty years I have just bought an example of this beautiful coin.  I guess that is what you call the impact of marketing!

Well in good news: my fairly new stack is already appreciating.
In less good news: probably coming to the end of the decent buying opportunities for the year.
    Mixed blessings?

I already don't like the article I have to say
"The price of silver has gone up astronomically. It was selling for just about $12 per ounce on March 19, 2020. But, as of July 14, 2020, the price is over $19 per ounce. That's a price increase of almost 60% in less than four months. What accounts for it?"
Totally misleading, it was temporarily down because of a liquidity crisis along with everything else in March, It was $18.60 in Feb
So It hasn't been on a astronomical rise it's been on the recovery, it's gone up about 4% on the year high

    Did you keep the faith?
    7 year highs.

The party is getting started. But personally I am not getting that excited yet. We still have MUCH further to run.
Like I have said in many previous posts, this will be a mindblowing bull market ride of a lifetime. We will go up by MANY MULTIPLES. Days like these will become much more commonplace.
Only those with the long term patience and vision to ride the full macro trend will be benefit.

Remember this immortal passage from Reminiscences:
"After spending many years in Wall Street and after
making and losing millions of dollars I want to tell you this: It never was my thinking
that made the big money for me. It always was my sitting. Got that? My sitting tight! It
is no trick at all to be right on the market. You always find lots of early bulls in bull
markets and early bears in bear markets. I’ve known many men who were right at
exactly the right time, and began buying or selling stocks when prices were at the very
level which should show the greatest profit. And their experience invariably matched
mine that is, they made no real money out of it. Men who can both be right and sit tight
are uncommon. I found it one of the hardest things to learn. But it is only after a stock
operator has firmly grasped this that he can make big money. It is literally true that
millions come easier to a trader after he knows how to trade than hundreds did in the
    days of his ignorance."

Translation = Ignore the smal, insignificant movements, and learn to ride the big trend.

Gibson96 reacted to ChrisSilver in Declaring the condition of your item/coin for sale
The below is not a forum rule but simply a recommendation for sellers.

A seller of a coin (or other item) will have a much better idea of the condition and imperfections of the item, than the buyer has. Of course this is only logical as the seller has the item and the buyer hasn't seen it in person.

When I myself sell, I try to list every imperfection on the coin. Sure, this likely will put some people off from purchasing but I believe that it is important to be 100% honest. I also understand how it is from a buyers point of view. As a buyer, I (probably wrongly) assume that most sellers are like me and therefore if I see that there is no comment about the condition, I presume the condition is very good or at least good (in my opinion.) When however, an item arrives and there are issues or imperfections on the coin (or other item) it is saddening, but often not worth complaining over. I would however be cautious of that seller in the future.

In my opinion, telling the condition of a coin from a photograph is hard. Some members are exceptional at studying photos and picking up details, but I personally find looking at a static image quite difficult to ascertain the real condition of a coin. Often a photo will look like there are some imperfections on an item but the actual item looks perfect in real life, and vice versa.

Though the buyer also has a responsibility to ask the condition, as a seller you know more about the condition of the item. To avoid any issues and to keep the forum trade section transparent and honest we strongly recommend for sellers to disclose the condition of their item. i.e. mentioning any imperfections, spots, milk spotting, lint inside the capsule, damage to the capsule etc.

Of course, a seller can not state what grade the coin is (unless it is graded.) Those looking for absolutely perfect examples in their collection may want to consider graded coins. But a seller can state if their are any imperfections.

I already see a large number of members who always list every small detail about their item and I would like to say thank you for doing this 😊
