Nice well done.  I think the Britannia is a very nice 1oz coin - definitely my favourite of the current crop.

I set myself a goal of buying a minimum of 1oz gold per year and today i finally was able to do it.

Nothing special just the 2022 Britannia.

Been a strange 3 years, this brings my total to 7.78 oz of gold.

Anyone else struggling to decide where to put currency with the current climate? Silver is off the table with the premiums and tax, BTC is a scary environment atm and gold seems to be stale.

Well done!

I know they are smaller, just under a half ounce, but premiums on 2022 gold Double Sovereigns are now only 4.5% for singles, compared with 3.9% for 2022 gold Britannias.

(Depending on seller)

Enjoy. You will get addicted and start using money you usually use for luxuries on gold. It’s a great feeling to own gold :)

Have to agree - I find it strangely comforting... 😊

Like the man in Ukraine who had his home destroyed and the news item reported he had lost everything - except for some gold coins he had buried in the garden.

I couldn't agree more. Not only is the struggle of putting cash into the "right" investment getting more and more difficult, the feeling of having something physical to hold in your hands is a great benefit of bullion.

I had a phase with Rolex watches, but about 3 years ago I started with gold. My goal was 1oz/week, so my collection has been growing quite steadily. Added some platinum and the occasional Silver Dollar on the way, but most of it is gold.

Should things go really sour, it will probably preserve some of its value, and if things go well, I'll just give it to my son when it's my time to go. Either way, I feel good about it.

On the other hand, if I keep this pace, my retirement will be planned out, and I can try and find the next obsession... ;)

Keep on collecting!
