My order arrived today, all in OMP apart from the 1999, so pretty happy with that :)

3 coins have edge toning, currently deciding whether to take out of OMP for a clean ;)

The edge toning comes off really easily, I experimented first on a coin I had a duplicate of and it just came off instantly with no harm to the coin.

Order number 3 of 4 arrived today, finally got some in OMP.

Almost tempted to grade a full set and see what happens emoji1.png

What do other Forum members think about grading?

If this is a viable possibility it would be good to learn about the options open.

I am sort of friendly to the idea of grading of old, circulated coinage but am totally anti it for new bullion grade coins.

The arguments for and against have been well aired on this forum.

I will have a look for previous threads on this topic, every day is a school day.

My coins are still in the stamp bags, edging nearer the temptation point of no return!  So I have no idea yet re condition.

I did read an article (rant) on Chards about the condition of 999 Britannias from RM and so the expectation that these coins might be better than the latest bullion is high.

5 tray carrying briefcase and first 14 coins arrived today. Ripped straight out of whatever they were in and plonked naked as the day they were struck in their velvet tray slots raw as. Bullion and I want to enjoy their naked beauty and subtleties. Ripped all my sovereigns, gold Libs and Brits, silver libs and other types out of their unappealing flips and plastic coverings and plonked them in their beds in other trays. They just look so much better out in the fresh air as intended. There is no comparison. Proofs, however, stay firmly in their capsules, boxes and with coas, of course.

P.S. One thing that immediately struck me is that all the silver Brits that arrived 1999-2007 have no milk spots - including the last of the 958 year 2012 that I had already.  2013s that I bought a few years ago have horrific milk spots (999)...doesn't bother me as they are bullion but it is interesting to see when you place them in order in a tray.

I think it's best to take them out of the OMP plastic.

Check to see if the sides are pealing away from each other.  None of mine are air tight.

Yes I've had this problem with previous year's brits, the plastic seals are rubbish. best to liberate them into airtites.

Still no sign of my order, will check with the post office tomorrow morning see if they have them and have forgotten to leave a note for redelivery. Next step will be to contact Nordfrim see if they know what has happened. Bit gutted if they have gone missing, I know I am protected and can get the money back but they are worth far more than the amount we paid for them!

Sorry KD, I don't remember if you got confirmation of postage?

It would indeed be a shame if they went AWOL.

Yes they confirmed by email that they had been sent, didn't give a tracking number though, getting that from Nordfrim will be the next step if the post office don't have a random package waiting for redelivery. Order had 19 coins in total.

What's the order dates guys?

I have had 3 of my 4 now and wondered if you ordered yours before mine?

order date 4th, invoice date the 6th. I was informed they would be fulfilling the order in full on the 6th and should ship the same day.

Hmmm. I have had both my orders from the 4th. One today, one on Tuesday I think.

they did seem to sit on it for a few days while this 3 coin max thing happened, plus the holiday slowed it down. were yours straightforward orders?
