Advice from collectors please?

Are proof coins meant to be perfect and free from imperfections OR should I allow some tolerance when purchasing new coins from the Royal Mint?

IMO all newly minted coins should be in perfect condition, however Proof coins should be free from any imperfections. I would not accept an imperfect proof. (To the naked eye)

Is this acceptable? Or should I return it?

Hard to say with these images.

The reason for buying a proof coin is the quality of production. Any concerns over this send it back for replacement or refund.

LFTV.  live from the vault.   Spot price is immaterial. its just an illusion.

Because of the higher QC on proofs and the premiums, are would expect them to be near perfect. Hence, I'd send them back if there were any sort of misuse or scratches.
