    • Hold for 6 months then sell ?

    • Hold for 12 months, then sell once you know the market has settled ?

    • Hold for 1-3 years, then sell ?
    • Hold for 5 years plus ?
    • Keeping forever, never intend on selling them ?

I see both sides of the flipper argument.

What I have never seen is anyone complaining about buying a coin below RRP on the secondary market

Agreed.  And there are so many coins that immediately after release are worth much less than the issue price- hot releases are few and far between.

Don’t do much on Facebook or eBay but what are the sale prices for the flippers looking like?

God, I must be bored this morning...

Using the search term '2022 Sovereign' on eBay on Saturday 20/11/2021:

The amount of 2022 Sovereigns for sale (all denominations and sets) is currently surprisingly few, given the amount of coins/ sets issued- there's currently only 36 sales posts using the search term described above.

In terms of sales- using the same search terms, here's the action so far- surprisingly few sales at 30.  Figures not quite accurate as some sales include 'best offer accepted':

5 Coin set- 3 Sales ranging between £5795 through £6995- Average sale price- £6430

4 Coin Set- NONE

3 Coin set- 5 Sales ranging between £1195 through £1650- Average sale price- £1388

Sovereign- 14 Sales ranging between £699 through £799- Average sale price- £750

Half Sovereign-  7 Sales ranging between £375 through £415- Average sale price- £399

Sovereign/ Half Sovereign combo- 1 Sale at £1300

The Opportunity takers don't appear to be out force.

Maybe as more get delivered they'll be an influx on eBay. Also no £1 selling fee's so people will be waiting.

Likely true- but I also think that Sovereigns are likely seen as a long term play, and as such, the steadfast Sovereign stalwart daddy of all coins is not seen as a popularist short term flip- after all, the modern Sovereign have been issued year in and year out since 1817 with only a few exceptions.    Unlike the multiple and risky to purchase one off modern coin releases the RM issued in the last 12 months- which amount to 30+ differing themes.  These one off releases are hot potatoes and can swing one way or the other value wise.

The Sovereign is enduringly popular 😀

For me yes to all in the questionnaire. Bought a few sets some to flip ASAP, also a hedge against a cancelled order. Make a little without taking the P out of anyone.  Covers cost of grading and subsides cost of holding the 5 coin set
profits go back into the hobby.

This is a good thing to see for sure, the completed sales/sold compared ratio to listed items, is strong

What is getting listed is selling, in good measure

It is certainly not the immediate, flip-a-thon the post "Three Graces" release was earlier in year, could be because of the price point being much lower with it being silver in most cases what people were able to order
