Yes but generally safe deposit boxes start very small i.e for documents and jewellery maybe.
If you remove the metal, bag it and label the box / packaging ( which you store externally elsewhere ) then you can actually get a much higher density of PMs in a given box.

Not quite on the same scale as a bigger safety deposit box but I’ll be eyeing up a new shoe box  in the not so distant future!!
