Where do you hide your most prized possessions?

I keep mine in the fridge, next to my silver :D

Ha, just a satirical poke at the price of silver today.

1 oz of silver vs a few cans of beer and a lettuce!

ps. the missus insists on a disclaimer: this is my beer fridge that lives in the garage ;)

Such an unloved commodity...which is great!

I'm sure some have whisky that's worth 10 ozs or more.

Back up the truck, fill yer boots, stack up the fridge!

My mum and dad were telling me of a neighbour who before she passed away, told them that she leaves her money in with her dirty laundry.

"No-one would dream of putting their hands near my dirty knickers", she said!

I had a good idea for a hiding place for gold that nobody would ever find, behind ceiling coving, you load up an old steredent tube with sovereigns tape it to the ceiling and slap up some coving over it.  Admittedly it not going to be easy for you to get to it either but if you want it for the long term then it won't matter nobody will ever find it.

An idea I had was to use a couple of wooden salt and pepper grinders: remove the central screw that connects the screw top to the grinder and you have a nice place to conceal a stack of sovereigns. Might need to drill it out a little to increase the width of the hole.

If you must put your coins in a fridge or freezer, I suggest placing them behind a severed human head. It is unlikely that a burglar will want to move the head to see what is behind it. Depending on your preferences, you can either use a real head or a fake one.

No hiding place is good enough if word is out that you have it.

Silence is the best defence, after that just enough to fool an opportunistic thief who will be in an out of your property in less than 5 minutes.

Currently stacking 1/4 oz (22ct) and Sovs.

No matter which safe you buy it always ends up being too small for all the junk you end up with.

Then you have the job of removing it after deciding some industrial glue is a good idea to back up the concrete fixings and make sure nobody can wedge anything under it.

I had large sums of cash to pay builders and associated tradesmen for my extension, all over now, i kept the cash in a dustbin full of dog biscuit wrapped in a zip lock bag right under there noses. Don't bother looking now Mr Thief, there will not be any in there, any more.
