It’s not naive. It’s a question most of us asked at one point. MS is the grading acronym for ‘Mint State’. You see graded coins that are MS70 (highest).

Thanks, but I was more unsure of what the shield he is referring to means. Is it a specific coin or a type of coin?

I've got one I do prefer them to the Pistrucci design; thought it may be that kinda shield but wasn't too sure.

Sadly as nice as mine is, it's not mint at all.

I've the modern 2002 which is pristine however. I would imagine a Victorian one is a little more valuable!
