Sovereigns from the Buckingham Collection

Just rung them - and yeah website down for "maintenance" was what I was informed -

Personally I think its not "scheduled" - its because of to many website errors - - and maybe to hold on this awesome price spike - otherwise they would get "FLEECED"

If it is "scheduled" then the IT dept wants to be FUBAR - during a trading day is a bit ridiculous!

IMHO

My experience: I ordered a Sovereign from the Buckingham Collection on July 23rd. Today I received it!

Whilst that is a bit slow it is within the time frame BC said was possible when the order was made (28 days).

Overall I think BC could be better at communicating with their customers but they have delivered and if an opportunity arises in the future, I may order from them again.

Anyone else having trouble gaining access to The Buckingham Collection web site ?

So much for having it "fixed" at the start of the month. I think it was designed by a three year old, and hosted on an old dial up server.

Why pay £318 for a 2019 Sov from BC, when the Royal Mint do them for £315 and guaranteed to get it next working day?

Or am I missing something?

I don't think anyone is buying that... there are cheaper options available. They had a special on the HALF sovereign earlier, but have recently put up the prices.

Everything you have to say is slander. How about a thank you for the £160 half sovereign you received for free?

Yes we have been experiencing website issues. Furthermore why are you placing an order on our site you have exceeded your one bullion order for the year. We are no longer offering Gold items below spot price, this is because of people taking an unfair advantage of our website.

Finally received the refund today but did take one week and three days from the initial rejection of my order. A little long but least it was returned.

We refund on day of request, the rest is up to your bank.

When I first mentioned website problems, you assured me that it would be fixed at the start of the month, it's still a very poor website. Something that I can express my opinions of if I wish.

To be honest why should I thank you for the free half sovereign, (especially after the post by yourselves on the other thread), I never got an apology about how I was treated by your company previously. I consider it fair recompense for you keeping my money for weeks and ignoring all emails.

Also I can't have exceeded my one bullion order per year AS YOU NEVER BOTHERED to send my order in the first place.

God, you are touchy......!

And a little bit of education for you, Slander is the spoken word, Libel is the written word, but I doubt you actually know the meaning of either.

You won't last long in this business if this is how you treat customers.

Ps, I created the website for the company i work for, so I know a little about website creation. And in my "professional opinion", yours is .........not good! (Mustn't use rude words ;) )

We went above and beyond the call of duty. +You received your refund. We can clearly see that you have alot of negative opinions about The Buckingham Collection and feel that some of these are completely unjustified especially after our kind offer.

We have been experiencing issues on our site due to a sore in gold coin orders. This is in the process of being fixed.

We are not touchy but also have a right to express opinion.

Slander is a statement damaging of ones reputation.

Just to put you right,

"Slander is the action or crime of making a false SPOKEN statement damaging to a person's reputation"

"Libel is a PUBLISHED false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a WRITTEN defamation"

There is nothing I have "published" that is a false statement. I have only written what I have seen and experienced

I have no problem with you expressing your opinion, but in the same vein, you have to be aware that people will have negative opinions of your company, and will air them. As I have said before, I have been in retail for nearly 40 years, and the way you have handled criticism, is very poor, and possibly appearing petty and childish. You certainly wouldn't have lasted long working in any of my stores if you had spoken to any of my customers the way you have spoken to people on this forum. You can take this as constructive criticism or not, it's up to you. I'm not bothered either way.

Reputation is something that is earned, not something that is given as a right. And I'm afraid you have a lot to do to earn a decent reputation among gold buyers.

You can do several things immediately to improve your customer service. Match prices of other well known bullion sites, and deliver by special delivery within 48 hours of accepting an order. (not making people wait three or four weeks). These are the things gold buyers are used to, and the companies that do this get repeat orders. The people on this forum between them, buy thousands of pounds of gold and silver EVERY day. You will see very little of this business unless you improve drastically.

The ball is in your court....!

Kindly, we are not in need of advice.

However we will take constructive criticism.

We are not a bullion dealer, hence our bullion coins have been up to £30 cheaper than anywhere else. We do not intend to compete on the bullion market. We do offer those coins only as an intro to our organisation. We mainly sell collectable Gold Coins mainly of which are not on our site.

Orders for bullion without any other purchase is a loss to us. We specialise in Proof and collectable coins.

I bought a sovereign and received a free half sov (thanks) from TBC.

@TheBuckinghamCollection As I have alluded to previously, I feel the way you deal with customers will win you few friends on this forum.

Customers can be a pain in the a*se, but it’s better to act like the bigger man and keep your hot headed reactions out of view of potential customers.

Let's all admit, we the director of the Buckingham collection a break since he admitted his faults and wished to provide compensation to those affected by his bad company.

It seems to be, we were very correct in our orginal assessment.

@HighlandTiger you received a free coin worth £150+, just say thanks and move on

I had already done both..........but that was before a post written in May was brought up and commented on. But as i said to Chris, I will refrain from commenting on any Buckingham collection threads, unless my name is mentioned, then out of courtesy to that person I will reply. As I have done here. ;) .

Just to clarify a few points here. I received a phone call from the Buckingham collection on the 1st Aug stating my ordered was to be refunded as i had exceeded my bullion allowance for the year. Fine, fair enough i thought!

In this phonecall i was told my money would be refunded. I waited until the 9th august then rang BC as i had not received my funds as yet. I was informed the refund was issued on the 7th Aug. The money appeared on my account on the 12th. So in reality it took from the 1st aug to the 7th aug to make the refund. Then the 12th to appear in my account. So it was not issued the day i was told on the 1st aug it was nearly a week later. So all in all it took 12 days but trying to say it was just the bank is incorrect according to your own staff member who told me it was issued on the 7th.

It is possible that banks can take a few days to allocate funds due to their anti money laundering policies. Back in the day when I used to work for Santander we used to deal with this sort of thing daily. I've even had it happen to me a few years back.

Agreed, and from Working in retail in the past, refunds have been forwarded to someone who batches processes them I.e. at the end of the week

It says on the page "make further savings when ordering by phone" be worth knowing if anyone has tried this to see what they mean by that.

Yep - I HAVE - - the answer (Very politely BTW) was only one of those 1/2 Sov's per Household  - - - - but "WE have the full sovereign for sale!"
