Whilst I was just thinking about my collection which includes maple leafs, morgans, JM's and some random car boot pick ups I was thinking which would I be most reluctant to sell when the the time eventually comes I can't quite figure out why off the top of my head but I know that at this point in time I would hate to sell off the JM bars I feel those are the ones which are the ones I hold too close to my heart I mean it was one of the earliest additions of my stack but I don't think that's the reason because I sold a bar which I had bought prior to getting any JM's. So anyone else care to share if any there is a part of their stack/collection they would struggle to part with?

The 20 peso, 50 peso and St. Gaudens were my most wanted.

I'll sell them last. If ever.

I am starting to get into pandas (no, don't call the rspca) so would be more reluctant to part with them. I quite like Britannias too despite them probably being quite ordinary. I am not bothered about most bars I own except the Pamp ones and the Scottsdale Prey ones.

I also prefer the clean smooth lines of a cast bar than the uneven swirls and bumpiness of poured bars. Controversial I know.

That's definitely how I'd go with my stack. I suppose it depends on how long a certain bar/coin you wanted finally joins your collection

Yes the Pamp and Britannias are certainly attractive additions to anyone's collection I was considering scottsdale at one point but decided against it I too like the reflections.....of myself that the cast bars provide 😛

Of all the things I have in my collection the thing that I'd struggle to get rid of the most is probably the lowest valued...  my old Canadian Voyageur dollars. I've had a fascination with those old coins since I was young and was shown one by a family member. I've got a good stack of them in every condition from uncirculated to beat up with holes punched in and I love them. They'll be the last things I sell when that time comes.

It's clear to see why they're so close to your heart I have the non silver version after a guy who was selling them told me it was the 80% silver version.....not my fondest memory but can only sell as normal coin.

Agree with that, it would be the 50 Pesos for me and the 20 pesos when I get one, fantastic coins tons of character.

I have some full sovs and ASE's that I am not attached too which I will sell at some point but to be honest everything else would be a wrench.

Probably hang on to the St Gaudens and Buffalo to the bitter end... oh and the Liberty Head $20 and the Liberty Head $10s and the 20 Peso and the half sovs :D

Plus by the time liquidation rears its ugly head I hope to have a decent collection of Engelhard 1oz bars, which I think are going to be tough to let go too!

1888 Sov from my late aunt who gave it to me as her prized possession when she was poorly.

Then probably my lucky five yen which I carry daily (not that I'd get much for that lol).

Collection-wise it'd be my 2016 and 2017 Kooks (among my first, and the first coins I fell in love with) and a panda which was a kind gift from another member here :)

For now it is my NGC MS 70 2003 mirror panda

Only 20 of these has the top grade

Plus I really like the 2003 design

The pandas look quite nice if anything I would only dabble in them I've heard they're widely counterfeited correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes I've seen some of those Liberty Heads in today I received quite nice! Maybe you have the answer to my fascination with the vintage JM's 😛

The first one's quite understandable. I don't have a lucky charm though I may need to consider that! I like some of the designs on the Kooks but not all their designs also missing from my collection may consider it down the road.

There is never enough money to collect everything is there, I am still not sure wether to focus on one brand or several, but am sticking to 1oz bars in any event. I like JM too!  👍

I've got the older 1 oz variety with the blank back and the logo neither of which have I seen or even heard of fakes it's only the newer 1 oz variety which I also have which Asahi took over are there counterfeits but quite easy to spot with no serial.

The 50 Pesos Gold coin is really impressive to hold, the 20 Pesos design also looks impressive although I don't have one... yet.😊

Nice I wasn't aware you didn't have any! Looking forward to seeing them! I assume they're going in capsules straight away? So much variety of them. I've only just recently got my first JM London bar which normally fetch a premium. The JM London ones are the ones I'm going to try and focus on for now

I made the same mistake myself years ago buying a 1968 Voyageur dollar that was stated to be silver. Unfortunately the last 80% silver Voyageur dollar was minted in 1966. The 1967 dollar is 80% silver but that one features the goose as part of the centennial line of coins produced for that year. I can't say I mind too much having also made that mistake as I learned to research these things better plus I carry that coin with me everywhere. I suspect it is much more worn down now than it was when I bought it some 16 or so years ago. It was in my hands on my flight 10 years ago when I moved from Canada to the UK and it has been in my hands a countless amount of times since as I debate one thing or another. The reality is at this point I might find it harder to part with that coin than any of my actual silver ones.
