What is this "gouging" anyway? I assumed it meant ramping up the price of something to make more profit when selling to those poor people called collectors who need subsidising in their strange hobby, that incidently they don't actually HAVE to pursue!

However, when I look it up on t'internet, it is actually a North American slang word for "overcharging or swindling" someone.

Swindling FFS, that's a bit strong isn't it, libellous even? Nobody's forcing these coin collectors to buy.

At the end of the day, everyone is entitled to sell whatever they want at whatever the price they choose.  Everyone is also entitled to choose what they want to buy and no one is forced to buy anything at a price they do not wish to pay.

That's it.

If you don't like muenzdachs's price, that's fine.  We don't all need to hear about it.  We are all adults and can decide for ourselves where we want to buy, what we want to buy and at what price we want to buy.

He's currently the 3rd most expensive. €149 Kettner, €139 silber-sammler and €129 muenzdachs.  In all cases, each retailer sold them at a cheaper price at an earlier stage and have increased their prices due to supply and demand.  That's just business in a capitalist world.

Well said steve besides if you are NOT ready to pay that sort of price then start planning EARLY @Sal. Everyone knew that this coin is going to be launched around this period of time and the price would definitely go sky high due to the strong demand of both the Santa Maria and Rooster release. What you should do is start contacting dealers even before the coin is launched! I'm must tell you that I did exactly that and managed to secure a good number of these coins at around 75 quid each including delivery. Chances are for those who are prepared for and not people like you who sat around and start calling people names because you have just missed the opportunity.

Yes it is. You do speak that where you live right? Pronounce E N G L I S H and repeat till you understand.

Have I arrived in a kinder garden or a forum where I can buy at what ever price I wish...........  I certainly do not need to read drivel from an obviously bitter person @Sal  business is thank god the art of getting the best deal at the rate you wish to pay, be that at bargain price of an extortionate price!

So as my dear wife often tells me  " wind yr neck in "     (I can if you wish give you the american translation?)

This is spot on I must say.

I was planning on how I would secure myself a few of these dogs for weeks. I'd been calling dealers, sending emails, reading threads, watching youtube vids (and reading every comment), talking to fellow stackers, checking dealers' websites daily and on the day before (what I was told) was the presale date I was sat with my laptop open refreshing up to 7 dealer sites every 5 minutes for 12hrs!!! Put in the work and you will get rewarded and stop moaning!
